Chapter 4 - Miss Ladybug

Marinette's POV

I just got invited to a Gala next weekend as Nettie and I was also allowed to bring a plus one. Maybe I could bring Master Fu as my plus one..but if I knew any better, I'd say the Waynes would also be coming and Jason might wanna take me as his plus one. Sigh...what to do, what to do? "Well I say you go as Nettie and deny Jason's plus one request. I mean, the invite does say it's a Masquerade Gala so masks will be included." Wazz reassured me.

"I guess you're right. Hmm..okay then, let's do it." But, people might actually want MDC to design outfits for some of them. And speak of the devil and it appears. My MDC phone rang and I picked it up after receiving an order from the Waynes. Coincidence...I think not. Sigh another order from those guys, thank God that I finished their outfits for the Christmas Ball at the end of the term.

Plagg: Let me guess. An order for the MDC?

Marinette: Yeah...

Tikki: Well, I say you start getting to work because you need an outfit too, right?

Marinette: Mhm, I might also make one for Master.

Fu: What about me?

Marinette/Kwamis: Ahh!! Master!!

Fu: *giggles* Sorry about that.

Marinette: Hey Master, I was thinking of asking you to go to the Gala with me as my plus one for my birthday. What do you think?

Fu: Sounds wonderful. But I already have a suit.

Trixx: Wait..you do?

Nooroo: The Master is always full of surprises.

I packed my side satchel with my phones and left to get some supplies for the outfits I had to make. I was almost out of black and white thread along with some embroidery needles since Plagg thought it would make a great toothpick to make eating his cheese more ✨FaNCy✨. I arrived at the shop and looked around with the kwamis helping me of course. "Marinette, I found some needles on this side." Kaalki said.

I nodded and followed behind her and took some and placed them in my small basket. Roarr and Sass then found the thread so I trailed them too but there was only so much left and I'd feel bad for taking the rest so I left at two rolls of each there. "Marinette, didn't you say you wanted a better chest to keep your different threads and needles?" Pollen asked. "I guess. You found one?" I answered in a whispered tone.

I walked around with her and I stumbled across a box and it was so pretty and cute. I opened it and the top split in half. There was a lot of space and to make things even better, I found a secret compartment underneath it that came with a key. I grabbed it and went straight over to the cashier and bought the stuff. I arrived back home with my stuff and began to work while the Master made some tea for the both of us.

It was time for patrol so I bid goodbye to Master Fu then transformed into Ladybug, jumping out of the window. I jumped across the rooftops and landed on top of one of the Wayne Enterprises buildings. Let's see.. Is there anything going on right now? I jumped down and used my yo-yo to swing across the city. I heard faint screams for help so I made my way over to see a lady holding onto her purse for dear life.

I jumped down as the guy managed to grab the purse from her. I wrapped my yo-yo around his legs and he fell to the ground with a hard thud. I picked up the purse and handed it back to the lady and she thanked me. I looked down at the poor guy and released him as he ran off. I heavily exhaled and I jumped back onto the building roof and looked around again.

I landed on a nearby roof and checked my bug-phone. I stopped in my path as I felt a slither of cold water run down my spine. I looked back then in front of me again but there was nothing. I began to walk again, my yo-yo at the ready. I was quick to stop after seeing a sword aimed at my throat. I jumped back but stopped again after feeling more than one presence around me and I was right.

They came into the light and I was surprised to see the vigilantes of Gotham. "We need to talk, Miss Ladybug." I gripped my yo-yo tighter in my hand looking at the man himself. Batman.

Batman: We have a few questions to ask you.

Ladybug: I don't know if I can answer them.

Hood: Well first off, thanks for saving me the other night.

Ladybug: Uhuh... No problem I guess.

Batgirl: We just want to clarify a few things like for instance, are you truly here to insure Gotham's safety? Are you really a hero?

Ladybug: I think my actions speak for themselves.
I-I'm sorry but I have to go..- Ah!

Robin held his blade at my throat preventing me from leaving. "Robin, we don't want to threaten her or harm her. Just question her. Remove your sword." Nightwing instructed and he did. "Ugh, you got off easy this time, hero." he glared at me. I rolled my eyes back at him. "So what do you want from me, Batman?" He walked up to me and looked straight at me. "So it's clear that you have some kind of powers. What are they?"

I'm not really supposed to be telling anyone what they are. Would they believe me if I said Magic..? "So..?" Red Robin asked. "Uhh...Magic." There was an awkward silence before Red Hood spoke up, "Yeah..and that yo-yo is disguised as your magic wand?" I stared at him muddly at his sarcastic question. "I'm being serious. Sigh, for now let's just say Creation." Batgirl further questioned, "Define 'Creation'?"

Ladybug: I can create anything to help me in a battle. I can also restore what has been broken or destroyed as a result of a battle.

Nightwing: That is pretty useful for cleaning up.

Hood: I say we can trust her.

Batgirl: You say that with every girl you meet.

Hood: And your point?

Red Robin: Well anyways I say you join us for the rest of the patrol and we'll see if we can trust her as much as you do.

Batman: Is that alright with you?

Ladybug: *sighs* Why not...
