Part 5

Steve found Sarah at the lake and went to sit down next to her. "You know why I had to keep it secret from you right?" He asked quietly. 

Sarah did respond and just stared at the sparkling water. After a few moments of quiet she spoke up, "Yeah... it's just a lot to take in."

" I know," Steve said putting an arm around her as she lied against his chest. "But it is kinda cool,"Sarah laughed,"I wish you told me this before career day."

Steve laughed as he hugged her. They sat there for a minute. "They asked me to come back, Sarah," Steve said.

 "Oh,"Sarah replied, "You retired because of me didn't you?" Steve didn't answer. "I see," she said, "I think you should go back." "Huh?" he asked.

 "You should go back. I don't want anyone getting hurt if you can help them,"Sarah said. Steve nodded, "I want you to meet some people." Steve and Sarah walk together back to Avengers Headquarters.

Once there Bucky went up and hugged Sarah as she hugged him back. "Are you ok?" Bucky asked. "Yeah, I am," Sarah whispered back.

 They walked in to find the avengers gathered by a table. "Ahem,"Nick coughed as Sarah walked in. "Men, I like to introduce Ms.Sarah Rogers," Nick said. 

Sarah gave a nervous shy smile. Tony walked up to her first, "It's good to put a face to the name," He shook hands with her and looked her up and down as if inspecting Sarah. "Wait, are you Morgan's dad?" Sarah asked. "She likes to think I'm not but I am,"Tony chuckled. 

Sarah smiled, "Morgans my best friend." Tony smiled but said nothing. She greeted the other avengers. "I still can't believe Steve has a daughter," Peter said in awe.

 "I can't believe my dad has a hot co-worker,"Sarah slapped a hand over her mouth, "Oh my gosh did I say that out loud?!" Steve sighed and put a hand to his forehead, Bucky cursed, and Peter wore a big goofy smile. "Jeez thanks," He said while he rubbed the back of his head. 

Sarah greeted the other Avengers still embarrassed over what happened. They all seemed surprised and interested in meeting Steve's daughter they didn't know about. "There's also more news,"Nick started, "Rogers is back in the game.Captain America is back."

 There were loud whoops of laughter and slaps on the back. "Wait, you are?" Bucky asked. "Yeah, Yeah Sarah and I talked about it,"Steve answered. Bucky answered and hugged Steve, "That's great man." The rest of the day the avengers sat down and told stories to Sarah and embarrassing moments that included her father. Later that evening when Steve and Sarah returned home it was silent until Steve spoke up, "I got something to show you." 

He led Sarah to his closet and put a hand on the side of the wall. Scanning Steve's hand the door automatically opened in the back of his closet to show the uniform of Captain America. The dark blue uniform with the matching helmet etched with large white A. 

"Woah!" Sarah said in awe. "Wait that's not it Steve said. He pulled back the clothing to show a large disk with blue,red and white circles along with a star in the middle.

 Sarah was speechless, "It's the shield. I-its your shield." Steve handed her the shield, "Here hold it."She grabbed the shield carefully once Steve let go the shield dropped in her hands. "This is a lot heavier then I imagined," Sarah laughed. 

She lifted the piece of armour and slid her arms through the straps "So cool!" she said. Steve took the shield back and hung it on the wall where it lay all this time. As Sarah walked around to the side of his bed and sat down Steve noticed her limp due to the bullet wound. "Hey are you ok?" He said motioning towards her leg. She looked at the white bandage wrapped around her lower leg and said, "It hurts some but I'll be ok." "Oh I know that," Steve smiled, "us Rogers are strong."

 Sarah put an arm around her dad and he did the same, "No joke." Quickly after she fell asleep again. He carried Sarah to her room. Kissing her on the head and covering her with a blanket he made his way down stairs. Bucky was waiting at the bottom for they were going back to avengers headquarters to go over what was happening and what needed to be done. "Are you ready?" He asked. Steve smirked and answered, "Captain America is always ready."

For the next few days lots of planning and decision making was done. Pictures were hung informing citizens that the avengers were vigilantes planning to destroy the cities and parks. "It's just going to get worse," Tony said during one of their meetings.

The rest agreed with him. Steve spoke up, "There's a mastermind behind this, one who is deceiving the government. I fear our country is being tricked." Tony sighed, "People are withdrawing their money and stocks from Stark Industries. Pepper is saying we're losing more and more money. We're having to cease manufacturing of some weapons and vehicles." Steve looked around at his colleagues. 

The future was unstable, completely blurred by the present circumstances. "But why would they target Sarah?" Steve asked as he walked around the room in thought. Nick sat down behind his desk and crossed his arms in front of him, "They want you. Why I don't know.They thought by grabbing your daughter it would be some kind of uh trap." Do you think this has anything to do with Hydra?" Bucky asked.Nick answered his question, "I don't think Hydra is capable of something that we are perceiving." Buck nodded in understanding. "They are playing dirty yes...but differently" Steve finishes.
