Lets see what happens to Sarah...
Peter waited patiently inside the frozen yogurt pace for Sarah. He thumbed the table looking at the window every minute. "Oh where could she be?" Peter thought to himself.
He pulled out his phone and called her hoping Sarah would answer, it rang a few times then went to voicemail. It wasn't like Sarah to be late, especially not an hour late.
He decided between whether not he should leave or stay and wait. Sarah not answering any of his texts he decided to call Steve to make sure everything was alright.
Dialing his phone number he called, "Hey Steve it's Peter. " Peter was cut off by Steve, "Is everything alright."
"No, yeah um I wanted to see if Sarah stayed home because she is not here."Peter said, trying to keep his cool. Steve laughed nervously across the phone, "Uh Sarah left around two hours ago." Peter was quiet. He was beginning to get worried over her.
"I'm heading to headquarters right now," Peter hurriedly said, leaving the restaurant and calling a cab. "I'll meet you there," Steve said, hanging up the phone. His hands were shaking, putting on his shoes. Once at headquarters, Steve arrived there before Peter and ran inside and he dialed Bucky.
"Hey Buck I need you to get to headquarters immediately, "Steve urgently said. "Why? what's wrong? Is everyone alright? Bucky said nervously.
"It's Sarah. She was walking in the city on a way to a study date with Peter. But she never arrived. We have tried calling and texting but everything goes to voicemail." Steve's hands were shaking so badly he could barely hold the phone to his ear.
"I'm on my way," Bucky said while getting in his car and speeding off. They hung up. Steve debated on whether or not he should call Sam, for he was in a project he had to do out of the states. He decided not to unless the situation became serious.
Once Steve arrived inside he went straight to Nick's office. "Nick I think there is something wrong," Steve said urgently once he got inside the door. Nick looked up from some papers he was going through, "I know I just got off of the phone with Peter."
Nick stood up and both Steve and him made their way to the elevator to head towards the control room. Steve turned to look at the view from the elevator. He was angry slamming his first at the glass, "I can't believe I let her go. I knew they were targeting her.I dont know whats wrong with me!" Steve was angry that he would do something so stupid, "Now she could be hurt or," he breathed deep, "or worse."
Nick started to talk, "Lets not think on what we could have done let's stay in the present," He turned to Steve, "and go find your daughter." They reached the control room, waiting was Bucky, Peter, and Tony. Peter looked worried and Bucky was walking around anxiously.
They both looked up once Steve arrived in the room. "Should we involve the police into this?" Peter asked. Steve shook his head, "I don't think so with all that is against us. We wouldn't want to be in the news more than we already are." Peter agreed with him.
Bucky put his hand in his pocket to calm them down, "When she doesn't go to school they will be questioning you." Steve nodded and sat his hand on the circular table in front of him.
Steve sighed in anger. "Lets not wait any longer. Peter, do you know the route she took on the way to where y'all were meeting?" Steve asked. He bent his head down to think.
"Yeah I think I know which way she might have gone," Peter said nodding and pulling a hoodie over his head." Tony spoke up, "I'll get some people to hack into security cameras around that area." Peter went over to Tony and informed him of the roads she would have taken.
"Peter, Bucky you come with me and we can go scout out the nearby alley ways and streets," Steve said, mentioning the two. He pulled on his coat as did Bucky. Once the three reached the designated area they got out and began looking.
Even at night the streets were filled with people. Looking in the alleys between stores and buildings, they tried calling her phone but still no answer. By right now Steve was a mess as was Bucky. They searched frantically for information that could give them a clue to where or who took her. Peter looked down the alley way when he saw something in the corner. He bent down and picked up a small item. Turning it over he noticed that the item was a phone. "Steve, Bucky," Peter yelled, "I think I found something."
Steve ran to where he heard Peter's voice. Once there he saw Peter holding a sma back object that he soon realized was a phone. Peter looked up at Steve "Do you think this is Sarah's?" He grabbed the phone, "Yeah this is hers. Look around for anything else you can find," Steve commanded.
After a half an hour of searching they found nothing instead of Sarah's cellphone. On the way back to headquarters Steve sat with his head in his hands. "We will find her. I know we will," Bucky tried to reassure his friend even though he himself was worried.
"It's all my fault," Steve said slamming his fist on the dashboard in front of him. "No it is not this could have happened anytime do not blame yourself," Bucky was almost yelling. Peter kept quiet in the back of the car, when his phone began to ring.
He picked up his cell and answered it, "Hey Aunt May this is not really a good time right now I call you later." A voice in the phone agreed and they hung up. The three reached Avengers Mansion. Once they were inside the control room, they were eager to see what Tony found out from the security footage.
"I couldn't find anything. All the cameras in the areas that I was given were terminated the whole day today. Whoever did this... they knew what they were doing,"Tony sighed.
It was quiet, Steve looked at the ground dismally. As did Bucky and the rest. "Maybe you should go home and get some rest," Bucky said resting a hand on Steve's shoulder. "No!I can't go to bed not until we find her."Steve argued, but was fatigued by the events of the day.
"You're not helping anyone by staying up all night. Sarah would want you to get some rest. Trust me,"Bucky said trying to persuade him to not neglect his physical and emotional health.
Steve was quiet but after a few minutes he let in and nodded. "I will be leaving also," Peter said, making his way out the door, "Good night everyone." Steve and Peter left but promised to be back early the next morning.
