As aforesaid, here is the chapter promised! I'm trying to break the tension a bit in this chapter by adding some humor. I'll be doing the same in the chapters to come simply for the sake of it. Hopefully you guys enjoy it.

After about thirty minutes of walking the silence becomes unbearable, so I try to make conversation.

"Hey, Audrey."

"Hm?"

"Did you ever have homework back at your old school?"

"No."

"Lucky!"

"Yeah.

She seems too lost in thought to really pay attention to what I'm saying. I try Zero next.

"Zero."

"What's up?"

"Do you know what any of these plants are?"

"Yeah."

"Really? Which ones?"

"Absolutely."

"Zero, are you even listening to me?"

"That's nice."

I huff in frustration. I turn around to see Ian holding in laughter. I raise an eyebrow, wondering what's so funny. He really starts laughing then.

"Sorry! Sorry!" he snorts. "It's just Zero...he really wasn't listening was he?"

I think over my attempted conversation. A smile makes its way to my face as I do. Maybe it was a little funny. Ian's eyes glint mischievously.

"Ian, your 'I've-got-a-stupid-idea-face' is back." I point out. After the multiple stunts he's pulled on this journey, the others and I noticed the certain expression he makes beforehand. Audrey and I dubbed it his "I've-got-a-stupid-idea-face".

"Well, maybe I do have a stupid idea." he jokes. "Want to hear it?" I hesitate a second before nodding. Ian moves closer, cupping his hands beside my ear before whispering his plan. I giggle.

"See? It's smart." he declares proudly.

"Okay, so maybe it isn't too horrible," I admit. Maybe it'll also stop the others from being so worried and distant. Ian starts hopping from foot to foot.

"Can we go now? I want to see their reactions!"

"Jeez, you're like a little kid in a candy store," I smirk. "Fine, I will say I am curious too."

"Let's give them a scare," Ian says before grabbing my arm and pulling me a little closer to Audrey. Once I get as close as I dare, he sneaks behind Zero.

"On three." he mouths.

"One."

"Two-"

Ian never made it to three.

Word Count: 359

That's a weird number. At least, I think so. Why can't it be 360? Or an even number? Idk.

Did you like the chapter? I hope the humor was alright. Nobody ever laughs at what I say in reality, so I thought I'd give this a shot.

As for what happened to Ian, I guess you'll just have to find out tomorrow >:)
