"The Whispering Woods." Zero reads. We had arrived in a town a couple of miles away from where we had the wendigo encounter and were now standing in front of a giant map. The map informed us of different places we could go, even detailing the shops that marked the streets. The sun was now rising slowly over the trees.
"That sounds creepy," Audrey remarks. "And dangerous."
"Which probably means that's where we need to go." Ian facepalms. True enough. I think. The reasoning behind this was reason enough for me.
"I do remember a story my parents told me once. It kind of reminds me about this place." Zero says, seeming lost in thought. "They said that there was a place every seer must go in order to reach the Mithril Towers, but that it was a place where no one has ever returned from - besides the Seer Masters, of course. It was an enchanted wood that was created to drive you insane."
"I remember this story!" Audrey suddenly says. "If you ever walk through the woods you have to stay on the path or else you'll...well, nobody knows what because no one has ever tried. And the ones that did never made it back. But supposedly there are voices that try to lure you away from the path."
'The Whispering Woods'. What a fitting name.
"Voices that are hard to ignore." Zero finishes. "I don't know for sure if this is actually the place, but if it is, we'll need to be as cautious as we can."
No joke. If we were going to be walking through a forest that was going to try to make us coo-koo, then we needed to be prepared. "We should restock our food and water supplies, maybe change our clothes," I suggest.
"Merle is right." Zero nods. "Meet back here at noon."
Audrey decides to stick with me, leaving Ian and Zero to get ready on their own. We buy some new supplies with what money we have left, including new pairs of shoes, clothes, and some food and water. Finding nothing better to do, we look for a suitable place to sleep.
There are some trees in front of the store that look like they have good cover. As we climb up into the branches, Audrey sets an alarm on her phone. The leaves form a canopy above us, hiding us from sight.
Nobody had said directly that we would go into the woods, but we all knew we were going to; it was almost like there was a silent agreement between us. I can only imagine what might happen when we get there. We need all the rest we can get. Curling up on the thicker part of the branches I begin to close my eyes. I just hope I don't fall.
That was my last thought before letting darkness overtake me.

Introducing: Creepy Forest With Harmful Powers!
Yeah. It took me a while to come up with an idea for the Whispering Woods, actually. But, here we are. Sorry for not updating recently, school has gotten hEcTiC again.
