8 | The "L" Word

"Bye , love you." He said. He could hear a suprised shout from Kunikida's end of the phone moments after he realised what it was he had said to Kunikida.

It wasn't often that Dazai made mistakes or slipped up in a conversation. But here he was after a long phone call with Kunikida overthinking about exactly what he had said at the end of the call before they ended it.

It was the "L" word .... love. True he was crushing on Kunikida but he has no idea if Kunikida feels the same way back or even experiances those feelings at all.

He had recived a text from Kunikida asking if he was alright and that he wanted to have a talk with him after his mission was finished.

The time Kunikida came back arrived quicker than Dazai would have liked it to as he was dreading to hear what Kunikida had to say about his stupid mistake over the phone.

"Im sure no one is in the agencey office right now so we will be able to talk things out before the others get back." Kunikida said as he arrived.

It was suprisingly quiet in the agencey as it was only the two of them in the office so they wouldn't have to worry about moving to another room for awhile yet.

"Ok. I would like to know about something that you said." Kunikida began to say. "After our conversation earlier today."

"It was a stupid mistake. Don't worry about it." Dazai said as he was avoiding Kunikida at all costs. That only made Kunikida even more worried for Dazai.

"I'm not going to think any different of you Dazai. " Kunikida said.

"Its not that I don't like you. " Dazai begun to say. He figured he had to get this conversation out of the way. "I do. Infact I think I like you more than a friend."

"And , If im being honest with you , I have always felt that way about you Kunikida."

Dazai was more concerned about how Kunikida was going to react to this. He had no idea on what his views on this stuff was about since they never talk about it like at all.

He was preparing himself for a mean comment when Kunikida said something that honestly suprised him.

"Its ok Dazai." He said. "Like I said before , I'm not going to think any differently of you. Yes I would like to start a relationship with you."

"So , is it true about what you said?" Kunikida asked. He didn't want to force Dazai into answering a question that might be too personal for him if that was the case.

"Yes its true every word." Dazai said. "So are we what they call a couple?" He asked.

"Yes I guess so" Kunikida said.

"So you're ok with this?" Dazai asked as he wasn't expecting Kunikida to be so accepting and actually wanting to be with him in a romantic kind of way.

"Yes Dazai I am." Kunikida said. 

Dazai had always thought of Kunikida to be not accepting about this sort of stuff because of his whole ideal womman thing he has going on but whilst he was thinking about it , it could have been a cover up of sorts.

"Dazai listen." Kunikida said. "If I wasn't ok with it I wouldn't have said yes to you. And are you sure you want to go through with this?"

After hearing Kunikida say all that it honestly made Dazai feel much better about himself.

"Yeah , I'm sure." Dazai said.

So in the end , they had sorted things out and now it looked like that they were now officially dating each other.

I finally finished it. I don't think there isn't any angst in this. I wasnt intending to have any angst in this one.
