11 | Trusting You

It wasn't often that Dazai gets badly injured on a mission. But today was different. He was engaged in a very exhausting fight with one of the people that was their target and during the middle of it all he got injured.

Their enemy had a gun and was firing bullets rapidly to the point where there would be none left. Dazai was busy doging all the bullets that were aimed at him and nearly missed getting hit by most of them.

Suddenly the shooting stopped as Dazai felt a sharp pain in his arm. However he had no time to worry about his injury as he went after the target and managed to capture them.

Once the mission was finally over Dazai met up with Kunikida. The first thing that Kunikida noticed upon seeing Dazai was his arm bleeding.

"Dazai you're bleeding!" Kunikida said and he quickly went over to Dazai and helped him.

"It's noting." Dazai said still clutching his arm. "No , Dazai. Its not 'nothing' your hurt and we need to stop the bleeding ....." Kunikida was saying. All Dazai could focus on was how painful it was. And he really disliked pain. Alot.

So with that Kunikida went off to find a first aid kit and soon returned with one. Once he came back Kunikida got to work by looking through the first aid kit untill he found exactly what he was looking for.

Dazai looked at Kunikida watching him carefully. "I have to see where you got shot so I can treat it." Kunikida said as he was holding a clean roll of bandages.

Dazai's eyes widend slightly at the thought of letting someone see underneath his bandages. He has never let anyone see what was under there. And if they did he was pretty sure that they would think of him differently and not in a good way.

He didn't let his hand , which was now coverd in blood , leave where he was injured. "I can do it myself." He said but Kunikida didn't look too convinced.

As Dazai moved to grab the bandages from Kunikida he pulled back because of how painful it still was. Kunikida was starting to be even more worried for Dazai as he had no idea how bad the injury was.

Kunikida wanted to help Dazai with his injury but he also didn't want to make Dazai feel uncomfortable or force him into doing something he didn't want to but looking at it now it seemed that he had no other choice.

"Dazai , you've got to let me help you." Kunikida was saying. Dazai knew he had to get the wound treated and fast before it got worse but he still had this fear of having to let someone see under his bandages. Even if the person was only Kunikida.

"Look , I'm not going to force you to do anything but we need to treat the injury before it gets even worse " Kunikida said. "But you've got to trust me on this one."

It took awhile but Dazai decided that it was better to get this over with. He removed his jacket and let Kunikida get to work. "Ok you can do this." Dazai said.

"You can always get me to stop if you feel uncomfortable with anything." Kunikida said before he started. He didn't want to do anything that Dazai didn't want him to do.

"No its fine " Dazai said. And with that Kunikida got to work as he carefully started to unwrap each of the bandages on Dazai's arm.

Dazai looked away once he knew that they were off. He didn't want to see Kunikida's reaction or hear what he was thinking.

Kunikida was quite shocked at what he saw once he finished but didn't show it. He had thought he had a good idea of what would be under those bandages but now that he was seeing it he was quite wrong.

There were scars of all sizes scatterd on his arm. It wasn't something he was prepared to see at all but he had to keep himself together if he was to help Dazai which is what he wanted to do.

Trying to ignore what he just saw , Kunikida got to work with cleaning the wound and making sure that the bleeding had stopped. It was a long process but soon enough it was done.

All that was left now was to put some clean bandages back on. Once that was done Dazai opened his eyes to see that Kunikida had finished. And it wasn't as painful as it was before but it still somewhat hurt a little if he moved his arm.

"You must hate me now" Dazai said and Kunikida was suprised at that.

"What do you mean?" Kunikida asked." I don't hate you."

"Even after you saw ......" Dazai said. 

So thats what this was about. Kunikida didn't like it when Dazai thought about hinself in a negative way and he also didn't like it when Dazai keeps thinking that he is going to hate him for something different.

"Listen Dazai." Kunikida begun to say. "I don't hate you. Not even after today."

He was quite suprised when he realised that Kunikida hadn't thought of him any differently. The shock of it all still hit him after Kunikida pulled him into a hug which Dazai returned.

He figured that Kunikida was always trustworthy and he was glad that he did end up trusting him even if he was reluctant to do so in the first place.

Dazai knew he would have Kunikida to trust even in the future. And that was something that he would learn to learn to do.
