9 | Don't Do This

This was something that they was hoping to avoid at all costs but here he was trapped in a building with no way out.

He and Kunikida were assigned to find some papers with very important information from this exact bulding and they ended up getting caught and ambushed leaving them to be seperated from each other.

Dazai fought off the remaining two that were in his way and quickly started to search in every possible place in the building to look for Kunikida. All he has to worry about is wether or not he will find Kunikida dead or alive.

As he continued to search the building , Dazai was starting to feel like something was about to go wrong. So he continued his search for Kunikida. As he got closer and closer to the first floor of the building thats when he heard it.

The sounds of gunshots firing one after another could be heard in the distance. Dazai headed in the direction where the gunshots were comming from and stopped outside a door where they were the loudest.

He quickly pushed open the door and stopped at what was infront of him.

There was Kunikida holding a gun facing one of the people who ambushed them and that person was also holding a gun. The scene was starting to feel all to familiar for Dazai.

He was quickly reminded of an old friend who once did the same thing that Kunikida was currently doing at this moment in time.

They continued to fire their guns at each other untill they suddenly stopped. The person facing Kunikida smiled as he held their gun and fired one last shot.

"Kunikida." Dazai shouted. The person heard and made their escape before Dazai could attack. With the enemy now gone Dazai turned to face Kunikida who had been shot near his left arm.

"Dazai ......" Kunikida said slowly. He could feel his vision fading and the amount of blood he was loosing. It was painful and Kunikida was sure he wasn't going to make it this time.

"Don't do this to me." Dazai shouted , he didn't want to go through the same thing twice. "Come on lets go back to the agencey and have Yosano heal you ...."

Kunikida lifted his good arm up and his hand slightly on Dazai's face. "Dazai ..... you were ..... "

"Hey don't talk ..... we have to stop the bleeding ok ....." He said starting to panick more as he ripped part of his jacket to try and wrap it around the bleeding wound in hopes to stop the bleeding.

Kunikida was loosing blood fast and if it didn't stop soo then he was sure he would be dead in minutes.

With the energy and strength he had left in him , Kunikida shook his head knowing that this won't end the way they both want it to.

"Dazai .... let me say this " Kunikida said. And as much as he didn't want to Dazai agreed and let him say what he wanted to.

"Dazai ... you were good .... " He said sounding weaker as the last bit of energy and strength in him had left.

Dazai watched as Kunikida's body went limp and the life leave him.

"Don't do this , Kunikida." Dazai said. He was now holding his lifeless body and trying to convince himself that he wasn't really dead even though he knew it was the truth.

This wasn't how it was supposed to end. Not like this. This was a really familiar thing that was happening right now. This was just like the time with Oda and how he couldn't get to him in time.

And now this. He couldn't even get help to save Kunikida in time. And now he was dead and he wasn't comming back.
