Louis's POV:

I decided to take the next day off from work. Lottie had gone to a Christmas party at her boyfriend's house. It was in my the 9th of December but as long as she wasn't bugging me about what my birthday plans are going to be, everything was fine. I didn't know what I wanted but the decision wasn't up to her either. I knew that I was spending be day before taking sutures out of the hottest person over ever seen since Aiden died. Hopefully today goes well, maybe this new person will distract me from Harry.

Hopefully.

I heard my phone buzz beside me. It was my friend Liam.

'Let's go out for drinks.'

He was always up for something. One year he decided that he wanted to go paragliding for his birthday. To add another fear factor to the extreme, he decided that he wanted to do it over the Grand Canyon, in Colorado, which I learned was in the United States. I knew that he would pick me up anytime that I didn't answer.

'Currently busy, maybe soon.'

Within seconds he had text me back.

' About to get some busy or thinking about someone busy?'

Everytime he asked me this it's always the second answer but only ever pick the first one. That way he would leave me alone.

' The first one '

I text back and hoped that he wouldn't answer me back. I had closed my eyes and almost fallen asleep when I heard a doorbell ring. I opened the door and saw Liam.

"I live right down the road Tomlinson. You should be truthful next time." Liam said.

I rolled my eyes and stepped aside to let him inside. I watched as he walked to my kitchen to check the fridge. I followed him and watched as he rummaged through my cabinets.

"Tomlinson, you don't have any alcohol?" Liam exclaimed.

"Liam, you know I don't drink. I stopped eight years ago. I'm not allowed to have any alcohol. Lottie's orders. She hated me being that person and sent me to rehab for it and I'm not going back to the person." I told him for the hundredth time.

"Louis it's not your fault. I told you that when you started drinking. You can't blame yourself for Aiden getting cancer." Liam said.

Flashback:

Aiden hadn't been feeling well lately and I couldn't place my finger on it. He was off, he didn't want to eat, he didn't want anything to drink, all he wanted to do was sleep. I had made him an appointment to find out what was wrong.

"Aiden, love, it's time for your appointment." I tried to shake him awake.

He rolled over and flipped me off.

"Now I'm offended. But that's fine I just won't give you any more love." Of course I was joking.

"No! Lou! Please!" Aiden begged. "Anything but that!"

"Then it's time to get up!"

Aiden finally got up with a little bit of help. He had become very weak lately. I helped him get dressed and then placed his shoes on his feet and helped him get into the car.

---

When we got to the hospital it took a few tries for Aiden to get out of the car. But once he got moving he was going. We sat down in the waiting room for them to call us.

"Tomlinson and Davis?"

I helped Aiden back up and walked all the way down to our room. When asked what the problem, I explained it to them. They drew his blood and then ran some tests on him and the blood.
