Bryan's POV:
After our talk, I could tell Mandy was drained of energy. Her powers were stronger than even she realized. Every time she got mad or upset, the weather outside changed.
Cora explained this would occur until she learned to control her emotions. In the coming days, Cora will train her how to harness her emotions and channel her energy to use the water as her weapon. Mandy would also have to learn how to shift and train her wolf.
When she mentioned hearing purring and someone telling her to wake up, I knew the turn was successful. I stayed with Mandy even though she was asleep because, frankly, I missed her so damn much and I needed to be close to her.
I mindlink James and Nick to let them know she is awake and we have talked about everything. They are ecstatic. Everyone is so glad she is back. I have Nick go to her mom's house to inform her that her daughter is awake. She said she would head over in the morning and to let her rest for tonight. I laid my head back and close my eyes, snuggling close to my mate.
However, my sleep is anything, but peaceful. It is like that night is on a loop and I keep seeing Mandy's bloody body on the ground, then I see her limp in my arms as we carry her to the hospital, then to watch her in a coma for two weeks has my body on edge. I didn't have the heart to tell her the full truth about Sam and Luke. Marcus sent gut-wrenching photos of them being beaten, tortured, and experimented on. No doubt Marcus is using Michael's mind tricks on them.
I feel my body shake and open my eyes to see a panicked Mandy looking down at me. I didn't realize I was sweating and breathing heavily.
"Bryan, are you okay? Baby, tell me." I can't help, but smile as she calls me "baby" again. It sounds so sweet coming from her lips.
"It was just a nightmare. Nothing to worry about. I promise I'm okay." I reassure her and pat the bed beside me.
"Okay." she doesn't look convinced, but slides into my side and cuddles back up. "When can I go home?"
"I overheard the doctors saying you are healing nicely and would be able to go home tomorrow some time." I can sense she's restless with worry along with so many other emotions. I don't blame her. I just have to continue to be strong for her.
The next morning, we hear a light knock on the door. Her mom enters with a relieved expression on her face. I slide off the bed to give them room to catch up. I watch my mate and her mom hold one another. It is truly a precious moment. I quietly leave the room to give them some alone time. Meanwhile, I look for the doctor to see when I can take her home and when she can start training. We still need to meet with the Elders and Cora to formulate a training schedule that works. Time is not our friend right now.
After I speak with the doctors, I mindlink Whitney and Claudia, letting them know Mandy will be discharged this afternoon and could they make sure the room is ready so she will have everything she needs. They are so excited to hear she is coming home.
I then mindlink James and Nick to explain the possible training plan. James is going to set up a meeting with the Elders, pack warriors, Cora, and anyone else that will be involved in her training. Once everything is in place, I make my way back to her hospital room. I open the door slightly to see her smiling and laughing with her mom. I couldn't help my own smile.
"What are you two ladies giggling about?"
"Oh nothing!" my mate shrugs her shoulder, knowing she's telling a lie.
"Mhm, likely story."
"I was just asking my daughter when you planned to make your relationship official." she smirks at me as I shift my weight and drag my hand through my hair and down my neck.
