"Pasko na pala sa isang araw, di ko ramdam. I'm more excited about new year kasi may fireworks HAHAHHA" I told my friend.
"Same, sis. Even my daughter nakahilata nalang, dati nung bata pa sya she was always excited about it." She said.
"How's married life pala?"
"It's fun. We're trying to have our first kid together, kaya iwas alcoholic beverages muna ako to get myself healthy."
She had a daughter way back in college, she got pregnant by her ex-boyfriend which is also our classmate but tinakasan sya.
Her ex-boyfriend was forced by his own parents to come with them and continue studying abroad.
The fact that they knew that he got someone pregnant but they didn't even cared at all. Good thing she found someone who can treat her well, better and the best.
"What if magpakasal ka narin kaya, Bi?" our other friend said.
"Oo nga Bi. You should find someone na, aren't your parents asking for a grandchild?"
"Well, wala pa nga nadating.. Paano magpapakasal?"
We all laughed.
I'm the only friend in our friend group that is still single. That's why they always get me as their ninang to their children.
Mia is already married, with two kids.
Alyzza is engaged.
Marian is newly married, with a kid.
Khengie is engaged with yzza.
Noelle is dating someone.
Airene is still single!
I do wait for my dream man, but I think he got stuck at the traffic HAHAHAHHA.
"Let's play truth or dare guys!" Noelle said and we all sat down and started playing.
"Let's start off with Airene!"
"HALA BAKIT AKO? pero sige"
"Truth or dare, Airene?" Marian asked.
"Let's go for the dare." I said, "I dare you to ask for the number of the third guy that's going to walk inside the Cafe."
"Ge." my competitive self said.
"One" We counted. "What if pangit yun? Halaaa charot"
"Two" We counted again, "Manifesting hindi pangit yung third" then suddenly my whole world stopped with this guy went inside the cafe.
Is that.... Simon?
He looked at me as I was looking at him. "Uyyy, the son of the politician pala ha" Khengie teased me.
He smiled and gave me a wave. "Airene, come on do the dare!" Marian said. I kinda forgot about that part..
I stood up and went towards him. "Hi, Si! How are you?" I approached him.
"I'm fine, how are you?" He asked back.
I can hear my heart beating fast. Why am I feeling this? Why am I starting to feel this? I think I...
"I'm fine too. It's been a while since we last saw each other. Kamusta na sila tito bong?"
"They're fine. Currently in Dubai sila, but I think they're going home later or tomorrow to spend Christmas at baguio."
Oh dear baguio.
"That's nice. Merry Christmas sainyo!" I greeted.
"Same to you, where will you spend your Christmas pala? I thought tito Jesse is comming home?"
"Well, I'm just gonna spend my Christmas alone in my condo. Sanay naman na ako and about dad, his flight was postponed because my stepmother got a problem with her passport."
"If you want, you can come with us in baguio?"
"No.. Hindi na, that's your time bonding with your family. Kayo nalang since that day naman is Christmas"
"Come on. You're like a family narin naman sa amin, and you said you're spending alone. Why not try to spend it with us?"
"You're really convincing me na talaga ha, okay I will. As long as papayag sila tito bong na sumama ako then I will" I said.
"Yes! I'll update you about it."
"I guess I'll see you next time, I'll go back to my friends muna. Bye ingat!"
I said and went back to my friends.
"Tagal naman po pala, halos 30 minutes na kayong naguusap. Number lang yung hinihingi hindi chika sis" Mia said.
"Magkakilala ba kayo no'n? Sabagay, attorney ka tas dating politician si tito Jesse."
"Oo, magkababata raw si Tito at dad." I answered.
"Shala! Baka naman yun na yung the one mo?" Noelle said, "hala what if nga ano?" Alyzza agreed.
"ano ba kayo, may girlfriend na ata ulit yun! Nung huli naming pagkikita may kwinekwento sya sakin e."
Medyo nasaktan ako sa sinabi ko.. But who am I? We're friends.
Honestly, he has looks naman.
[THE NEXT DAY]
I woke up from my sleep and I checked my phone. I got a message from Simon so I checked it.
FR: Simon Marcos
Hi Airene! Dad and mom said yes,
feel free to join us tomorrow.
TO: Simon Marcos
Sure! I'll just pack my things.
FR: Simon Marcos
Sunduin nalang kita sa condo mo.
We're going to leave later 9pm
I'll pick you up at 8pm, see you!
