Chapter Eleven -Step one:Escape

I sat next to drake as he slept, he looked like a child. So innocent and so detached from the world around him. I had an urge to run away right now so i didn't have to deal with seeing him when he wakes. I brushed his blonde hair away from his face, blood still caught in my finger nails. His lashes brushed his cheek bones and his lips slightly parted. As he breathed warm air filled the room. I pressed my ear against his chest, no heart beat Though his body was warm. " You dead yet your warm".

" There's a reason his warmth". I lifted my head to see Angelina leaning against the door. She wore a white dress now stained with black. The black liquid which came from Drakes body. "Angelina..." She wore a carefree look, though pain was clear to see now. She walked up to the bed and sat next to me and drake. Then she cringed when looking at the black covered bandage wrapped around drakes arm." vampires blood is as dark as their futures. Human blood is much more appealing" I rubbed my bandage from the werewolf in my dream. It was her fault but I knew I had to see , I now know of all the pain the fight between the supernatural beings has caused. " You see the reason for the warmth from his body is his power, or as he calls it,his curse. The first time he found out about his power he killed his last slave. He didn't love her like you, but he saw her like a little sister" My checks heated up at the word love, drake loves me?. I looked over at him when a pounding hit my heart, I wanted to just stay with him. " His power is fire, it burns in his body. It is one of the rarest and most powerful of all the powers. I was jealous of him at first, then I saw the pain it brought him." Drake was in so much pain and I never knew. Angelina stood up to go as she added " Lucy please be careful, my brother is finally happy you see. Also please stay with him, until that time" I was about to protest when the bed started to move. She did this on purpose.

Drakes eyelids flicked as his eyes adjusted, he tried to get up so I pushed him down. His body must be weak if I could move him. " Lucy? " I didn't know how to talk to him anymore he just stared at me. " you must hate me" I wrapped my arms around his neck for his body to collapse at my weight. "Promise me that won't happen again"

"Lucy " He removed my arms from around him, he held me as he crushed my lips with his. I closed my eyes and kissed him back." I think this should of been are first kiss " i said while wrapping my arms round him again. We spent most of that day holding onto each, tomorrow night will be the ball. My plan was to escape out the arch way then continue the hospital. After that I will get the plant drake needs, i just hope he will be able to justify my actions and help me make the medicine. If worst comes to worst Robin will have to return with the plant, no one will get hurt but me.

"Drake what sort of plant is needed in the medicine?" He raised one of his eyebrows " Its called a nillicus flower, it's found in caves. It's a vibrant pink with yellow stripes, I've never know it to be in many medicines before but I know they wouldn't give it up easily". Suddenly something clicked " Couldn't we just trade for it? Doesn't your father do that anyway?" He looked at me surprised at what I just said, he let go of me then got off the bed. He looked down at me as he spoke " You must be mistaken the only thing my father trades is..." He sentence cut off. "Drake? " He didn't respond he just stood there. " its nothing we should get some sleep". I let it go, I didn't wish to fight. This would be the first and last time we sleep in the same bed. I held his hand dreading the moment I'll ever have to let go.

I woke to find the other half of the bed cold, I stretched my fingers to only find the silk cover freshly made on just that side. There was no light peeking through the windows suggesting that it had already turned nighttime. I prop myself up and made my way through to the bathroom. I had not looked at myself since being at home. I was happy I didn't now. Dark circles lay under my eyes and skin looked worn. Then my hair was slightly tipped with dry blood. I removed my bandage to my surprise it was healed. Not even a scar was left, my idea of the vampire treatments were underestimated. I showered for about half an hour, it was the first time I had warm water. I fiddled with the different buttons and played with all the soaps. When I came out I was as cleans as a whistle. I put on a robe and rubbed my hair with a towel. Nursery songs ran through my head as I sang back into the room. I thought nothing could bring me down till I saw Alfred there holding a clothing bag.

"At least you've had a shower, i thought I would have to drag you in there." I wasn't in the mood for him at all. " What is it Alfred?" He seem slightly irritated that I used his name, like Drake was the only one would could use it. " Master told me to give you this, your to put it on then have your hair and makeup done". With that he left the room slamming the door right behind him.I whispered bad words before continuing towards the dress.

I unzipped the bag to find a flowing red dress, the same color as my hair. On the dress roses covered the top then one by one travelled down to the waist.I wasn't even sure how to put it on, every part led to another. Knocking started at the door "Umm.. Come in" A girl walked in, she looked like a doll. Her hair precisely in place ,her lips formed perfectly and her eyes were a large pool of blue. She curtsied as she smiled at me. " Excuse me madam, i am to help get you ready. May I?" She said while holding the dress and gesturing me to raise my arms. I don't even protest as she plucks every hair from my body. 'I'll kill drake for this' I just kept repeating every time I screamed from the ripping sound.

I look at myself in the mirror, it didn't look like me. The dress fit perfectly holding and pushing the right areas. My face was clear of blemishes. The doll girl watched admiring her hard work before leaving me alone.I Wish I could stay and hide in this room forever. I felt like a marionette having its strings pulled, i wanted to stay here now but I missed my family. I knew I couldn't stay here or there as my plan is to now get to the Hospital where Robin will be waiting. I took one last look at myself in the mirror before stripping the dress off I quickly changing into a white blouse, brown trousers and boots. One last thing, I pulled the sword from its case. The sword I used when the werewolf attacked me. Hopefully it would work again. I took one last look at the dress then gritted my teeth.I checked the corridors before running down to the main floor, the first step of my plan. To Escape.
