Chapter fourteen

I bit my lip, a metallic taste filled my mouth and dripped down my chin. I wiped the stream with my sleeve, it just made it worst spreading the color across my face. Drake pulled me closer to him and wrapped my legs around his torso. His lips pressed to my chin, then his tongue glided across my lips. The stream of blood fell down his throat. At the corner of my eye I saw Ashley flicker between us both, I pulled away then I hid my face in his neck. My cheeks burnt of embarrassment "Lucy we need to go,We will be in werewolf territory by now".I looked over to ashley, she messed with her hands. I couldn't leave her here, not another person getting hurt.

I stood up , my body pressed up to the crate. I fiddled with my belt till I found it, my sword. I pulled it out, slashing it through the air. A scratch near the tip from the werewolves teeth were still there.The crates lock was rusted as well as its chains. Ashley backed away and shut her eyes, i threw 3 blows it did nothing but make me out of breath. Sweat tripped down my face, drake saw my annoyance. "That sword is old, it wont work". I pushed passed him and tensed my body. My whole energy into this one chunk of metal. Again I threw another blow. This time it worked, the chain fell in a million pieces scattering across the floor. "Its not the sword who's weak, it's me." i Rubbed the sword making it sparkle even more. I kicked the crate doors, Ashley looking even smaller and weak now. I patted her head then gave her a hug, her body relaxed in response. I went to remove my coat but drake stopped. He placed his coat around her body. I didn't know why I was jealous. Drake was helping her and me, but still I could never get use to him even touching other girls. Especially human girls. I wanted to slap myself for feeling this way.

We all lined are bodies close to the exit. It was a metal with another lock on. I went to grab my sword again but drake stopped me. "I've got it, you don't want them to hear us. We're lucky they didn't before." I nodded my head a little annoyed, he didn't compliment my strength. He placed his hand over the lock then shut his eyes, his hand shined a bright red. Then a flame pattern lit up his arm like an alive tattoo. He used his power to burn the lock, it turned into a black liquid on the floor. It began to solidify in seconds. The door swung open, white flecks breezed inwards causing a white pathway. "Ashley do you have somewhere to go?" I asked. Her eyes fell to the floor, then she shook her head." I don't know where home is". I knew how she felt, it was like a claustrophobic feeling. You couldn't run as you didn't know where to go, that's if you had the chance."I'll take you there after all this, though you will have to travel with us" Her eyes were full of excitement. I giggled with her, but I could feel the negative aroma coming from drake. I chose to ignore it. We tip toed on a platform between the carriages, Ashley stumbled but I luckily caught her. The wind hit my face each time bringing a wave of shock as the snow melted at the touch. Forest passed by, the train didn't slow. "Drake? What do we do?" There was a little shake in my voice, i hoped no one noticed. Though drake squeezed my hand,I didn't want to be weak. Being weak kills you.

"We roll, it's that or we wait for it to stop. Then we will have to deal with them again".I swallowed the lump in my throat, making a creaking noise.I wasn't worried about the roll, me and sister before she was ill use to sneak on to trains for fun then roll off them. One time my sister hurt her leg so I carried her the whole way home. It was lucky she didn't do anything worse, when you don't have good medical care even cuts kill.I held Ashley's hand seeing how scared she was, again reminding me of my sister."Drake, help ashley". He raised his eyebrows, not sure how he should continue. I looked annoyed but I just wanted to get it over with. Before he could speak I did a dive and fell into a ball rolling down the hill. The impact made my heart stop, i felt pain travel through my arm. I landed wrong. When I opened my eyes I saw drake and ashley dusting them selfs off. I lay there in pain, it

was as if drake could smell the distress. Before i knew it he was in front of me eyeing me up." You know that you don't need to pretend, i know how strong you are". I propped myself up, to only fall over in pain again into the snow. Drake ripped his sleeve then then tied it round my arm. The scenery around me would of been beautiful if it was under other circumstances. Snow still fell but the sun melted the icicles on branches. Making it look like waterfalls from the sky. I could feel the snow melting under my hand as I gripped the ground. Nightfall would be soon, as the sun was close to the horizon. "Lucy, Ashley, We need to rest. We won't travel far from the tracks as we will be following them closer in the morning ". We made are way deeper, the density of trees increasing, until drake stopped. "This will do". Ashley looked dumb founded, it was clear that even as a human she wasn't use to bad conditions. The only thing the trees helped with was stopping the snow from falling on are heads. This was going to be a long night.
