Chains

Chapter Nine

I stood only a few meters away from the 19th century door, it was beautiful engraved with angels flying towards the door knob. Recent events prevented me from ever entering, but now I was determined to get this over with. Many questions ran through my head that needed answering. I wanted to know what his parents were like and how his brother treated his slave. Bad feelings ran through my chest causing my knees to slightly shake.

The wind blew the lace on my petticoat against my knees,my shoes rubbing my the ends of my toes. My hair was tied half up with a ribbon and a fur coat was wrapped around my arms. Drake stood next to the car, his hair rustling in the wind. His beauty shunned through all of the roses around us. I began to think about what he said before about my heart beat not lasting forever. I didn't want to be here nor could I leave. I was a spider trapped in the bathtub, no matter how close i get I always get pulled back in. Drake caught my glance, he smiled enhancing his previous beauty. I turned away embarrassed, hiding my scarlet cheeks which were now the same color as my hair.

Angelina watched us awkwardly, as drake wrapped his arms round my neck. " My parents are asleep in the day, so I will show you your room". I was grateful to have my own room, even if it was going to be dusty and broken. I made my way into the house to be greeted by Alfred. I forgot about him. He didn't look me in the eye, only at drake. He took his coat then bowed giving me a dirty look before turning on his heel. "Alfred play nice now..." I wasn't happy at Drake for saying this, I'd rather just blend in and be ignored. Alfred stopped in his foot steps then turned around holding his hand out. Though his body looked like it was under strain, or like he had been forced to do it, I peered at drake to see him watch Alfred intently. I stood there looking at Alfred , unsure of his actions. His eyebrow began to twitch as he spoke the words through his gripped teeth "Coat". I quickly stripped my coat off then passed it to him, laughing and rubbing my head. Drake also laughed, though he was laughing at me not with me. My mouth went dry, at least Drake couldn't control humans only vampires.

The house was beautiful, diamond chandeliers hung from the roof with the light shining through causing different colors to hit the room. The wallpaper had stories printed on them, painted by hand. A large wooden staircase stood in the middle of the room completing it, at the top of the wooden staircase a figure stood their. I could make out it was a man, when i pointed it out to Drake it had already disappeared making me look like I needed another trip to the hospital. Drake took my arm and led me up the stairs and through all the corridors. Each one decorated beautifully with precious ornaments guiding are way.

We came to a door that looked like all the rest, i stood in front of it unsure what to do. "Lucy? Do you not want to see your new room?". My new room, I thought I was a slave. " well, I, I. Drake I'm sorry I was so mean when we first met!" I clenched my fists and closed my eyes to try and prevent the dam under my eyelids breaking through. Hot torrents fell down my cheek, burning my skin as they fell. Drake stood there in disbelief, then a laughter burst out. He held his hand on his stomach and bent over in pain. "Shouldn't you be scared of the big bad wolf? I did nearly killed you". I didn't move, I just followed the patterns on the carpet slightly embarrassed. His arms reached out to me like picking me up like a bride. He pushed open the door with his foot nearly causing it to crack then came towards the bed dropping me in the middle.

The room was gothic, the bed had a metal frame with flowers weaved round it. The sheets the color of indigo and black. The curtains were shut letting darkness creep in. Drake crawled onto the bed as a leaned back against the frame. His lips slightly open as he pushed his head into my neck, i felt his warm breath against my skin causing good shivers. My body ached for his embrace begging for him to hold me. He moved up to my ear and slightly nibbled it causing a slight moan to break free from my lips. His smile devilish as he sat on his knees in front of me, I lay there panting from my sudden heart increase. " If you want me to bite you i will, you just have to say" He traced his fingers across my collarbone my heart was still pounding. I moved my hands across his body, and brought my face to his neck. His skin soft and clear as I bit his neck. "Ouch! What was that for!". His face looked so innocent as if he had just been violated. "PayBack" .

After that Drake forced me to sleep as I would be up at night time for now on. I woke up to see the light still shining through the windows. I wonder if that arch leading into the forest I saw the first time would be guarded at this time for future reference. I sneaked out through the hallways and down the spiral stair cases, until I understood i was lost. I slumped my back and decided to ask someone, I heard speech coming from down the corridors. It was coming from a large oak door different then the other ones. I was about to turn the knob when I tuned into the conversation through the door. " I hope you have a good reason for waking me from my sleep, I'm not fond of werewolves even at night" Werewolves? I thought they couldn't get into vampire territory. " I am only aloud in by your government in to day, do you have the supplies?" I pressed my ear up against the door to listen more. The both sounded like manly voices, the one that just spoke sounded more younger through. " Yes, there to be transferred to the werewolf territory in three days. Though my upper colleges don't fell comfortable in trading with you".

" We agreed that we would work together to trade, we are just giving what are people need". I heard them both say there goodbyes. I had to hide, i looked around me and found a room rather close. I shut the door as silently as possible and sat behind it. My palms became sweaty as the footsteps came closer.

The footsteps finally were sent further away, i let out the breath I held in." oh so that's where the ear dropped was" The voice the same as the man's in the room though this time it made the hairs at the back of my neck stand up. I crawled backwards watching the door as it was kicked into a million pieces. As they fell to the ground it uncovered a man. His dark hair swirled across his face, his body nearly ripping through his shirt. I sat paralyzed, unable to blink. He came closer then poked my forehead with incredible power, forcing me backwards hitting the wall. " How dare you, a human even be in the same presence as me". My body shaken unconditional as it filled with pain, But what I saw couldn't be unseen. A large wolf stood in front of me growling through his teeth like the beast that bloodied my arm.
