Prologue

"Crystal!"

It was 2am, the prank was being set up and Kylie had to find her best friend before she was humiliated by their 'friends'.

The other two siblings were in the kitchen, Amber washing dishes and Jason having drank too much and fallen asleep.

As the group heard Crystal approach, the majority got into their hiding places.

"Kenny? It's Crystal."

She entered, holding a candle and Kenny smiled.

"Hey, Crystal."

Downstairs, Amber sees someone outside.

"Hey, did you see that?" she called, but her brother didn't respond.

Upon approaching, she found the bite from 'Kenny' asking Crystal to meet him.

'Oh great, now what has she gotten into?'

When she found the empty alcohol bottle, she sighed.

"You've done it again, bro."

Upstairs, Crystal starts to take her shirt off.

A too loud whisper from Marjorine makes her freeze.

The group, having caught enough, all came out of their hiding places just as Kylie finally found them.

Humiliated, Crystal runs out.

Amber sees someone run past the kitchen window and goes to find the others, making it to the hallway in time to see everyone else running out.

She grabbed her coat and followed.

"Crystal!" Kylie called out into the snow storm.

"That was her? Where is she going?" Amber asked.

"It was just a misunderstanding, it's fine," Marjorine replied.

"It was just a prank, Crys!" Henrietta called.

Amber couldn't leave her sister alone out there with a stranger around.

She ran off out into the storm as the group went back inside.

Amber ran through the woods, dodging rocks and tree branches, taking risky shortcuts to find her sister faster.

She followed Crystal's footprints until she reached two different paths, the footprints went down one but there was a noise from the other that could be her sister.

After some consideration, Amber kept following the footprints.

She pulled out her phone to light the way as she kept going, having to dodge a deer running by on the way.

Somewhere on the cliff above was a blast of fire.

"What the hell was that?" She knew she had to hurry now.

Thankfully, she found Crystal a bit further ahead.

Amber took her coat off and gave it to her sister.

"We gotta get back, it's not safe out here."

As if proving her point, there was a sudden animalistic noise as something started coming for them.

The sisters ran, that thing following.

Crystal tripped going across the bridge and Amber dropped her phone pulling her up.

They ended up cornered at the edge of a cliff.

"Stay back!" Amber shouted.

The sisters backed up more and more until Crystal slipped off the edge and took Amber with her, who was luckily able to grab onto a branch.

Another blast of fire came from above with a scream, and then a masked figure leaned over above them.

He offered a hand but Amber didn't trust him, she'd rather risk death than let herself and her sister be taken by this stranger who had been stalking them.

So, she let go.

Amber and Crystal's screams echoed as they fell, before harshly landing in the mines down below.

Never to be seen again.
