Chapter 3 - Haunted/Isolation

(HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!)

Stacy, Erica and Jason had their spirit board session all set up.

"Alright. Who's starting this thing?" Erica asked.

"Well this was your idea," Jason shrugged.

"I was only joking, I didn't expect anyone to want to do this!"

"Come on, we believe in you, Stacey cheered her own.

And how could Erica ever say no to her?

The three all put one finger on the planchette, and then it began.

"Is someone there? Can you give us a sign?"

When it started moving, they were all freaked out.

"No way."

"Jason, you're not-"

"Not me!"

It spelt out 'HELP'.

"Who needs help?" Erica then asked.

The board then spelt out 'SISTER'.

"Oh shit," Stacy already knew.

Jason was having a harder time, but he pushed through.

"Ask which sister," he said.

Erica hesitated, but she did comply.

"Which sister is this? I...Amber? Is that you?"

It moved to 'YES'.

"Oh god," Erica wanted to stop.

"This is fucked up," Stacy was right there with her.

"Keep going," Jason was pushing himself, desperate for answers.

"Look, we can stop," Stacy cut in, "we don't need to-"

"I want to know what happened that night! You two should want to know too if this is really Amber."

Erica took a deep breath. "Okay...Amber? We really miss you, and we want to know what happened to you. Could you tell us?"

It started moving again.

"L...I...B..."

"Library! There's something there," Stacy said.

It started spelling out a different word.

"P...R...O....O...."

"Proof, that's what's there, it's proof!"

"In the library?"

The spirit board suddenly shook, sending the planchette flying.

All three jumped up and backed away from the table.

"Fuck this," Jason muttered, storming off.

"Jason," Erica called, "I really don't know-"

"He just needs some time," Stacey stopped her, "it's hard for him. But...you really didn't do that?"

"No! You know I'd never, and if none of us did it, something else did."

"Alright, okay. So what do we do now?"

"....I think we should check out the library."

.....

"Marjie?" Kenny called.

The sound of a scream came from nearby.

"Marjie?" he tried again.

Then, he climbed over the log with some struggle.
