Chapter 8 - Animus/Revelation

The Stranger grabs Henrietta's hand and she screams at him to get away.

He tries to get her to be quiet, but of course she doesn't listen and he ends up letting her go when he realises what's behind him.

Henrietta barely catches the flares that are thrown at her as Stranger yells at her to get out and use the flares.

She falls down a ledge, the flare bag landing on her stomach.

"Damn it, how many times?"

Using her torch, she lights one of the flares and puts the bag over her shoulder.

She walks through the mines and wedges herself into a gap between rocks.

While going through, she just manages to avoid a monstrous hand.

She sprints, hitting a fork in the road and heading for the elevator as the monster chases her.

She pulls the lever and the elevator goes up just in time, leaving her safe for the time being.

When it comes to a stop, she has her guard up again.

Henrietta runs out and throws her torch, pulling a chain as she runs by that drops rocks in front of the thing.

She tips a barrel over that leaks oil which she tosses a lit flare on to cause a fire.

She reaches a conveyor and activates the belt, jumping off to an inactive belt when she's some way up.

But she's not done yet.

Henrietta runs into a wooden building and locks the door behind her, right before the thing breaks in.

At least she'd gotten some distance between them.

She zip-lines on a power-line that breaks at the end, causing her to fall to the snowy ground.

She can make it to the lodge from there and runs, screaming bloody murder.

Kenny, hearing this, walks out the shed.

Henrietta reaches the lodge and pounds on the door until Stacy lets her in.

She collapses on the floor, just relieved to have made it and to be alive.

Kylie helps her up along with Erica and the four girls go further into the lodge to sit down.

"God, I didn't think I'd make it. Thank you, Stacy, thank you."

"What happened?" Kylie asks.

"I don't even know. Kyle and I, we went to the radio tower to get help...it fell."

"Oh shit," Erica gasps.

Henrietta continues. "Kyle made it to safety, I told him to, but I fell into the mines. And...look, we're in some deep shit, okay? Someone was in the mines, a person! And there's...there's monsters!"

"Wait, what?" Stacy says.

"Wait wait, no...there was something else, something worse. Kyle found Amber's phone on the way there, and when I was in the mines I...guys, I found her head."

Henrietta knew it was mean to drop the news like that, but they deserved to know.

"Jesus," Erica was about to throw up.

Stacy didn't know what to say.

"What else?" Kylie didn't want to know more, but she was trying not to think of her brother still being out there.

"Okay, so they both fell, but there were marks and a cross for Amber there too. I don't think Crystal died in the fall, she was still alive. Something else happened to her."
