I hope yall have a happy Christmas and stay safe! This is the Christmas chapter I promised you. Its not the best, but enjoy anyway!

Virgils body shot up. He shivered and shook. Electric tendrils ran up and down his chest. He knew he shouldn't, but he was ready to run. He couldn't help it.
Everything had to be perfect today. The presents were perfectly positioned in a pile on each Side's respective seat on the couch. He had spent hours last month wrapping them. Roman's in shiny red, Remus' in a murky green and Janus' in banana yellow. Logan's was a posh looking blue, it wasn't actually wrapping paper; Virgil had hunted the mindscape for some dark blue paper and the only thing he came up with is wallpaper. It did the trick. Patton's presents were wrapped in a tacky blue kids paper and it was perfect.

After quickly checking that nobody had tampered with the gifts, Virgil ran back upstairs to get ready. It was five in the morning and he knew he didn't have much time left. He pulled on his homemade Santa costume. It was purple instead of red and where the white should have been, there was a black and white stripy pattern. He had made it himself.

With only 10 minutes before Patton would wake everyone up, Virgil threw on some makeup. He was ready.

In the kitchen, he layed out all the toppings that were available. His mixture sat in the fridge, exactly where he left it. The machine was hot and ready to go. Everything was perfect.

He waited for the first side to show up. It was, obviously, Patton. "Hey, Dad! Do you want some waffles?" Patton took off his blue Santa hat and sat down with a yes. "How long have you been planning this, kiddo?" he asked. "Since last year, when all I got you was a card."

Patton's heart swelled with happiness. His strange dark son was finally living Christmas! Roman came down a few minutes later, tempted by the smell of waffles. "Want some, Princey?" Virgil was really into the spirit now and there was no stopping him. "Sure, J-Delightful. Merry Christmas to you all!"
Logan ventured into the kitchen next, the usual neutral expression replaced by a smile. His attire was the norm, with added tasteful snowflakes. He helped himself to a coffee and sat at the table.

After everyone had finished eating, Virgil asked them to go into the front room. Their faces lit up when they saw all the gifts. "Roman first. Then Logan. And Patton last." The other sides agreed.  They all snuggled together while they watched Princey open his gifts.

Each time he picked up a new box, he shook it, tapped and squeezed it. Virgil had made him plushies from Roman's favourite Disney movies.

Logan delicately removed the paper by the tape joints. He seemed to enjoy the blue's dull shine. The logical side had been pleasantly surprised by the efforts Virgil had gone through. The entire Sherlock series rewritten with Logan as the star.

By the time it was Patton's turn, he was practically bouncing with anticipation. He was sure one of the boxes had moved. He tore into the paper like a child. There was a blue blanket and a bat robot. Patton loved it as it reminded him of his 'shadowling'.
The last box was bigger than the rest. Was that a hole in the paper? Patton was more careful with this one; each strip was deliberate and purposeful. It was a large brown box with multiple holes poked into the top. Something yipped. "Puppies!" He took the lid off and there they were. Two pomeranians. A black one and a faun one. He held them, one in each hand.
"That.. Is too.. Cute to.. Process.." Logan stuttered out.

They all sat in comfortable silence for a few minutes. "Virgil...?" Roman spoke up, " I have a gift for you..."
When Roman made no move to get anything, Virgil asked what it is..

"SURPRISE! IT'S US!!" somebody shouted from behind. It was Remus and Janus. "Hey guys!" Virgil was flabbergasted. "Roman, how did you arrange this?!" The creative side blushed at the gratitude. "Remus is my brother..."
" Hey, Spiderling. We have a gift for you." Janus held out a box with yellow paper and green ribbon. Inside, was a rainbow frame with a hand-drawn picture of each of the Sides. They were all hugging and smiling. For Virgil, this was the best Christmas ever.
