Chapter 9

We are still running from the police station, laughing as we ran.
"Haha! OMG! Did you see his face?!"
Balkan says.
"He was so in shock, he didn't even bother chasing us! Haha!"
Mouthpiece says.
"He looked like he just smelt diesel's feet!"
Big deal laughs.
"Hey! My feet smell Amazing!" Diesel defends.
I laugh and then check the time on my pocket watch.
6:45.
It'll be dark soon.
I then remembered something.
Something that's gonna go on tonight.
"Uh hey, guys?" I say.
"What's the matter, luce?" Baby John says.
"Do you guys know where the rumble is?" I ask.
They all kept quiet.
"Mouthpiece. Don't. You. Dare." Snowboy says while starting daggers at mouthpiece.
"Mouth? Wanna tell me where the rumble is gonna be at?" I say, knowing he'll crack soon.
"Rumble? What rumble? Haha.. what even is a rumble?" Mouth says nervously.
I just glare at him, he really can't kept any secrets.
"Play dumb, but not that dumb, why don't ya?!" A-Rab mumbles.
"IT'S HAPPENING AT THE SALT SHED TONIGHT!" Mouthpiece practically yells but then he puts his hands on his mouth while the others put their own hands on his mouth too.
"Okay, thank you!" I say.
"YOU IDIOT!" The other jets yell at mouthpiece.
"I'm sorry! She just looked so innocent and desperate, staring at me, wanting to know where the rumble is." He says.
"Ok guys, today's been fun but I need to go back to Doc's! Bye!" I say turning on my heel but not before a hand grabs my upper arm.
"Hey, luce. I don't know what you plan to do now that you know where the rumble is but please, be careful." Diesel says, seriously.
The other jets now have a serious look on their face as to tell me they care about my safety.
"I will. You guys too." I say turning to leave.
"And don't do anything stupid like ya brotha!"
Diesel yells, laughing a bit.
I smile as I walk towards doc's.
I open the door to the drug store and say a few words to Valentina then I make my way down to the basement.
When I look up I see Tony, looking stressed.
"Hey Tony. What's wrong?" I ask my brother.
"Lucy! Thank goodness you're here." He says.
"Well, I should be the one telling you that since I haven't seen you here much since the dance"
I say.
"Yeah... I'm sorry but there's something you should know." He says
"What?" I ask slightly nervous.
"Riff has a gun." He tells me.
My eyes widened with shock.
"But- why?" I ask.
"I'm guessing to bring to the rumble tonight, but I need you to do a favor for me." He says seriously.
"Sure what is it" I ask
"I need you to convince him to call off the rumble." He says.
To be honest, I was already gonna try to do that the next time I see him but now since he has a gun, the rumble needs to stop.
"Okay, I'll do it." I say
"Oh thank you. Thank you-" Tony says but I cut him off.
"On one condition." I say
Tony looks at me both nervously and confused.
"Where have you been?!" I say
He looks surprised by that but Answers.
"I've been uh- seeing a girl.." he says.
When he said girl I was in shocked.
My brother, seeing a girl.
"Do you like her" I ask
He nods his head slightly.
I nearly scream out of JOY!
"SHE CAN BE MY SISTER!" I say
NeverMind I do scream.
Finally, after all these years being with my brother and the jets being my only friends,
Me being the only girl, me being without any girl friends,
I can finally have a sister!
Another girl!
No more stinky stanky boys!
"I'm so happy right now!" I say
Tony laughs and says,
"You should meet her one day!"
"I would be honored." I say
I check the time.
7:24.
I should go convince Riff now.
"Okay, after I convince Riff to stop the rumble, you, mister are taking me to see my future sister-in-law!" I say pointing at Tony.
"Will do, captain!" He says
I head up the stairs but not before Someone grabs my arm for the third time today.
"Lucy, I just want you to make sure that you are only going to convince Riff to stop the rumble. If he won't then that isn't your fault. Okay? And if he doesn't stop the rumble then you don't go anywhere near the rumble. Got it?" Tony says.
But I was planning to go to the rumble.
"Okay, I won't go to the rumble. That is IF Riff still decides to have it after I convince him." I say, lying.
I felt bad for lying to my brother. But if I do convince Riff into not having the rumble then it's a win. However if he still decides to have it then I have to go. I need to go. I wont let anyone I care about die.
"Good, now get going shortie." Tony says.
"I AM AVERAGE OF 5'4 YOURE JUST TOO TALL! BEEN DRINKING A LOT OF MILK I SEE, HUH?!" I say laughing a bit
Tony laughs too.
"Okay okay!" He says.
"Okay now I'm leaving" I say.
"Oh and luce!" Tony shouts before I head up the stairs.
"Yeah?" I ask
Tony takes a deep breath and says
"Be careful."
