The Secret - Camren

I must have been staring at Camila like a deer in headlights for the past 5 minutes. She was staring at her phone terrified while I stood there in complete shock.

"Whats going to happen now?" I asked her a little too frantically.

"I umm... I need to go... get Sofia and ... ummm see the lawyer and maybe leave... I don't know" Camila said without looking up. Leave? She couldn't leave!

"No. NO! You are not leaving. I will keep you safe Camz I promise, just please don't leave me" I said as tears started to run down my cheeks. Camila finally looked at me with a sad expression.

"I may not have a choice Lauren, but I will do my best to stay" she said hugging me tightly. "I really need to get Sofia and keep her safe"

I grabbed her hand as she made a move to leave. She stopped a confused expression on her face. Before she had time to say anything I intertwined my fingers with hers and headed towards the parking lot to my car.

While Camila was in the principal's office fleetingly explaining the situation I was in the hall calling Zak to tell him I wouldn't be coming in tonight due to family obligations. He was disappointed but told me to take as much time off as I needed and my singing gig would be here for me when I was ready. I thanked him just as Camila walked into the hall to join me.

"Sofia is on her way here, she might not be very happy that you are with me but ignore it and she will come around" Camila said a small smile appearing on her face making her beautiful brown eyes glow. I had a hard time not kissing her right there, but I withheld knowing Sofia would catch us.

I had been sitting in the car with a quiet Sofia for the past hour. Camila was inside the small red brick building. If not for the sign that said "Harper & Marks Attorney at law" I would have thought we were at someone's house. It has a covered front porch and bushes on each side of the steps. The sign hung low and discreetly near the red front door.

I had tried to talk with Sofi a few times but all I would get was a grunt in response. Camila said that she had convinced Sofia that it wasn't a dangerous or a bad thing or whatever it is that Sofia was so upset about, not that I blamed her with her past, but she still wasn't happy that I, Lauren her soccer coach, was the one dating her big sister.

I was currently staring at the big red door when Camila finally walked out. She walked to the car quickly and took her seat. I turned on the engine and made my way towards Dinah's house where Camila and Sofia would pack some of their things to stay at my house for a few days. Sofia had thrown a fit of course but calmed down and even got excited when she realized she would be sharing a room with Taylor.

"So what did he say?" I asked not wanting to intrude.

"He said that staying with you for a few days was a good idea, just in case but he doesn't think that Jack will risk coming here. It would be breaking his parole. He also said, which is kinda against what he said about not worrying but, he said that he would make some calls and have Sofia and I followed by cops for a while just in case. I think he wants us to feel safe enough to go to school and stuff like that" Camila said taking my hand in hers as I drove.
