Part 16

The next morning I woke up with Taylor cuddled into my side. She had crawled into my bed during the night crying about a nightmare she had had. I never minded her sleeping with me but she always made the bed so damn hot. I wiggled out from underneath her arm and leg that had found their way on top of me and went to the kitchen to make her some breakfast. We had a practise this morning and then both our teams had a game in the afternoon. Camila was supposed to come watch Sofia play and then we were going out with our friends.

"Morning Lauren" Taylor said sleepily rubbing her hand against her eyes, the smell of bacon had clearly woken her up because she automatically sat at the counter and stared at the stove. I put some on a plate and handed it to her before kissing her cheek good morning. Chris must have smelled it too because he soon walked into the kitchen and grabbed himself a plate, half asleep, before heading back into his room. Taylor and I just looked at each other before bursting out laughing by his behaviour.

We finished up eating in a hurry, as always, and headed out to the fields. I had decided to make my practise relatively calm since the kids would be playing a match that afternoon. I was going to make them do some small drills and then we were going to play red robin for the rest au practise so that they can relax.

The kids were starting to show up and one by one they all gave me a hug before running off onto the field to mess around with their friends. Sofi and Camila still hadn't gotten to the field and practise was just about to start. I was starting to worry about them. What is they had a car accident? I was starting to panic as I sat the kids down for attendance. As they kids were starting to line up to practise their kicks Sofi came running down the small hill from the parking lot to join us on the field.

"Hey Superstar, how's it going?" I asked giving her a high five.

"Camilla wouldn't wake up this morning. I had to throw water on her" she replied giggling.

"Is she okay?" I asked worried about her behaviour.

"Yeah she said she was just really tired, can I go play please?" she said. I nodded and she ran off to join the others. I looked up to the parking lot to see Camz waving at me before driving away. I finished practise and all the kids were excited for the game later.

"Alright guys. Now you know we are going against the Raptors this afternoon so I really need you guys to be on point. They are one of the top teams this year and it won't be easy but I know I can count on you to take home this win. Am I right?" I said to them.

"Yes" they all yelled.

"I can't hear you!!" I yelled after them.

"YESSSSSS" they all shouted at the top of their lungs. Some even jumped up and down.

"THAT'S RIGHT" I screamed and they all rushed me, pushing me onto the ground in a dog pile.

"Alright, alright, guys get off hahaha" I tried to wrestle my way out. "So go home and have a good lunch and get ready to kick some Raptor butt!" I said before they all ran off to join their parents. Everyone except for Sofi.

"Lolo?" she said holding up a piece of paper. "Mila told me to give you this" she said as I took the paper from her small hand. She packed up her things and went to sit on the bleachers as she waited for her ride. I opened the note and read:

Lauren,

I have to do something regarding Sofi and I's family situation. Could you please take Sofia home for me? If you don't have time just call Dinah, she said she could come get her if you couldn't.

I smiled at her signature. Hers, hehehe I liked that a lot. I opended my phone and sent her a quick text.

Is everything okay? Don't worry about Sofi I'll take her out to lunch with Taylor and I and I will bring her to the game afterwards. I hope I get to see you at the game, xoxo

I put my phone back into my pocket and went to tell Sofi that I was taking her to lunch. We went to get Taylor at her field and then headed over to Domino's for some pizza. The girls were talking about their upcoming games and how they were going to kick some butt. I just watched and ate my food in silence thinking about Camila and whatever her mystery errand was. Something about her family, what could that even be? My curiosity was getting the best of me so I asked Sofia.

"Superstar?" I said getting her attention. She looked at me her cheeks covered in tomato sauce. I laughed a little, shaking my head.

"Do you know what your sister is doing?" I asked trying to make it seem like casual conversation and not a question that has been burning inside me since I read the note.

"Ummm she said she had to go see someone about Daddy I think" she said. The second the words were out of her mouth her eyes grew to three times their size. She looked like a deer in headlights.

"I'm not allowed to talk about it" she whispered looking at the food in her plate. Taylor looked at me questioningly and I shrugged not knowing what had just happened.

"Sofi it's okay don't worry, I won't tell Camila you said anything okay? Don't worry" I said soothingly. She nodded and finished her food not saying another word.

*Ding*

I took my phone and looked at the text I had just received.

Aww Lolo you are the sweetest ever! Thank you! I'll be a little late but I will be at the game and at our group date don't worry ;) xoxo

I smiled and put the phone back into my pocket. The girls both had so much sauce on their faces that I wondered if they even got any in their mouths. I took a picture of their sauce filled smiles and sent it to Camz then I told them to go clean up in the bathroom before we headed off to the game.

Camila made it just in time to see Sofia score our first goal of the game. As always she was the team superstar. The raptors had some really good players but none of them were a match for Sofi. She would steal the ball from them and wisp down the field to make a goal. Dinah's mom also came to the game and was able to see Sofi score another 3 goals. They were both cheering and screaming Sofi at the top of their lungs as she showed off.

The game ended with our team winning 5-2. My players were freaking out and hugging eachother as if they had just won the FIFA world cup. I took a few pictures before I felt two arms wrap around my waist.

"Hey baby" a familiar voice whispered in my ear before kissing my neck quickly. I turned in Camila's arms to face her.

"Hi Camzi, I'm glad you got here in time. I know Sofia was worried you wouldn't make it" I said, looking around us to make no one was looking before placing a chassed kiss on her perfect lips. I pulled away quickly and looked into her eyes. I got lost in them for a moment before I felt someone watching us.

"Shit" Camila said looking towards the field. The festivities had calmed down and Sofi was staring at us, tears running down her cheeks. Camila ran over to her and spoke to her quietly in Spanish.

I walked over to them and they both looked at me. Sofi was looking at me with so much hate in her little eyes I nearly broke my heart. Camila stood up and took Sofi's hand who tried ripping it out of her big sisters hand. Camila wouldn't let go as she started walking away.

"Camz?!" I said loud enough for her to hear me.

"Don't worry Lauren; I'll meet you at the restaurant. I just have to fix this" she said with sad eyes and an apologetic look on her angelic face.

I was in a daze as I picked up Taylor. She talked to me the whole ride home but all I remembered was that she won and had scored 2 goals. The rest was a blur. What was going to happen? She told me not to worry but I couldn't help it. Why did Sofi get so upset by it all the time? Was she taught it was wrong? Was it just because Camz broke her promise? The questions were driving me nuts and I knew I couldn't wait for Camila to be ready anymore. I needed to know what was going on, what about her past was so scary, and where she was today. I couldn't wait any longer. I was getting the answers tonight.
