Vrooooom.
Minutes turned into hours of Rose driving nonstop out of fear and confusion. Rose was just minutes away from crossing the border of Canada and going into Washington. She barely knew where she was going since she's never been to Washington before.
Rose had forgotten about it but she was following Lonokai on his social media and he was able to track her using some tactics he learned being in the Mafia.
Please be okay. Lonokai grew very worried as the time went on and the sky became darker and darker. He had his phone resting on a stand set up on his dash just below his eyeline; occasionally glancing at it. He sped in his car during times of him being furious and overwhelmed; pretty much the whole time.
"Would you like anything to drink?" The waitress asked.
"Just water...please." Rose answered, taking nervous glances around her every few seconds.
Rose decided to stop for a break and eat since she already finished what was in the car. She was terribly exhausted.
"Are you alright, ma'am?" The waitress questioned, frowning while inspecting her.
"Huh? Oh. Y-yes I am. Just...excited for... my plans tonight! Yeah, that's it."
"Oh, what are your plans? If I may ask."
Rose paused for a moment, trying to come up with an excuse because it was definitely not her business to know she was probably already being chased by a scary Mafia man. She glanced at a table in the distance and saw a little boy with a cone hat that said "Happy birthday" on it.
"A party. A birthday party! Yes, I'm going to my friends birthday party right after this."
"Oh how fun! Well, are you ready to order your food?"
"Yes I am."
Rose ordered her food and the waitress took her menu and said she'll be back with her food and drink.
Lonokai was determined to find her. He would not stop even if he had to search a million miles just to get to her. Why am I doing this? My mission was to kill her but here I am over here, stressing about her and how she could be in danger right now. Whatever, I'm too far in to turn back now. He continued for what felt like hours.
"Here is your food ma'am. Anything else I can get for you?" The waitress asked with a smile.
"No thank you. I'm okay."
"Okay, enjoy your food." And she walked away to another table.
Oh my gosh, this food is sooo good. I have to give them 5 stars. She became full after a good amount of time. She was waiting for a waiter to come around so she can pay for her meal.
Okay. It's now or never. I believe this is the right place... Lonokai was standing outside peeking into the restaurant to see if he could spot her. Some people gave him weird looks as they walked past and people inside the restaurant did the same. He just smiled awkwardly and waved.
Okay great. My check is coming. I'll just text Zoya about how I'm doing when I'm in the car.
"Here you go, will that be cash or card?"
"Card."
The lady scanned the card and Rose got up. Lonokai saw her moving towards the main counter of the restaurant and started to prepare himself only to be stopped by Rose walking to the bathrooms. He sighed. A few minutes later, his eyes lit up when he saw her coming towards the door. He stepped away from the door and waited until she walked out. When she did, she looked to her left and froze. A scared face grew upon her. She wanted to run, but her legs couldn't do it.
