Chapter 17 - Veronica

After a bit of convincing, the boys agree to Zane, Veronica, and Madrid coming back to their place. Zane's car followed Zach's car all the way to Lonokai's and Zach's house. Once they got home and unlocked the door, Veronica rushed in.

"Wow! You boys have such a nice house!" She gasps. "You should show me around!" She twirls her hair.

The boys slowly look at each other.

"Um actually, I'll show you around," Rose jumps in.

Veronica turns her head and as she speaks, she looks Rose up and down, "But, I was hoping Zach or Lonokai, or even both, could show me-"

"It's no biggie, I'll do it. Now, follow me."

When the girls disapear, the boys whisper, "Hey, did you feel that too?" Zach asks.

"What? The tension? Yeah, that was weird," Lonokai answers and then walks into the kitchen.

"Well, what do ya boys got?" Zane marches into the kitchen.

Lonokai spoke, "Got what?"

"Drinks-wise. Alchoholic drinks."

"Oh uh," Zach opens their liquor cabinet. "We have bourbon, wine, and beer."

"I'll take a beer," Zane pulls a stool out from the island counter to sit on.

"So uh," Veronica starts, "do you like Lonokai?"

Rose's eyes widen for a second and then she looks to Veronica, "I'm sorry?"

"Oh don't play dumb, I've seen the way you look at him. I mean, who wouldn't? He is pretty."

Rose goes quiet.

"Relax. I think it's cute," Veronica smiles.

What the hell? Why does she want to know this? Especially after what she did today?

Rose clears her throat, "Ahem, well um, that is the basics of the tour. We should get back to them now."

"..Oh, okay." Veronica stops smiling.

Zane takes a sip of his beer, "So I was thinking, and I thought you boys could come back to work in the ma-"

*Cough cough cough* Zach chokes on his water, "Fath- *cough* Father... we *cough cough*, we should go in the other room." Zach glances to the girls. "Excuse us *cough*." Then, he nods for Lonokai to come with. Lonokai immediately understands and follows.

"Damn I thought I was gonna die back there *COUGH*." Zach hacks.

Lonokai helps Zach's coughing by slapping his back a couple times, "Bro, you only choked on some water, jeez,"

Zane just stands there awkwardly, "....Anyways," He clears his throat. "Lonokai, Zach. I think you guys should come back to the Mafia to work again. It's not the same without you guys."

The boys look at each other and, after awhile of thinking, finally agree.

"That's great news. So, you ready by tomorrow?" Zane asks with an eyebrow lifted.

"Should be." Lonokai shrugs.

"Sure." Zach crosses his arms.
