Chapter 21 - The Getaway

Two mornings later, Lonokai and Zach receive a text from their dad asking to meet at his mansion. They let the girls know about it, and they left later that day.

Once they arrive, Rose comments, "Woah, I keep forgetting your dad's place is much larger than ours."

"Yeah... he has too much money. " Lonokai says and nervously glances to Zach, and he does the same.

They knock on the door, and Zane let's them in.

"Welcome in, guys." Zane consoled. He brought them to his living room where Madrid and Veronica sat.

Rose and Zoya instantly felt annoyed. Rose leans and whispers in Zoya's ear, "Why is she always everywhere we are?"

Zoya sighs, "I'm not sure. I don't get good vibes from her."

Rose scoffs, "I've felt that since the beginning." Especially since she thinks she can mess with me using Lonokai. Who does she think she is?

Zane starts, "Alright, everyone. The boys already know of this, but I own a beach house. So, I decided to have a getaway vacation there, and you guys can just enjoy yourselves. All of you are welcome to come." He glances at Madrid, expecting him to say something.

Madrid stares into space until he hears silence and notices Zane hinting at him. He zaps out of his trance, "Oh, um, what else are we doing there?"

"Thank you for asking, Madrid. You guys can do whatever you want. I'm paying for all of it." Zane smiles.

Both brothers lift their eyebrows, "Really," his face says he doesn't believe it, "you are buying?.... Everything?" Zach says, glancing at Lonokai with a face that says, 'Let's take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity.'

"Why yes, of course. We will be leaving in the morning. Madrid and Veronica, you'll be in my car with me. Zoya and Rose, you are with my sons.

Veronica pouts, "Aww, but I wanted to be with Zachary and Lonokai!"

Zach looked to Veronica. Why did she just say my full name?

"Alright then. Veronica, you will replace Zoya and -"

"No." The room goes silent, and everyone turns to Rose, "It's okay." Rose raises her eyebrows, "Zoya and I will go with Zach and Lonokai."

Dang Rose, Zoya slightly smirks.

"Are you sure? You two can always join Madrid and I-"

"Yup, I'm sure." She glances at Lonokai and sees that he's already looking at her. She swallows and looks away.

The Next Morning ~~

Everyone's bag is already packed from the night before, so Zach and Lonokai, and Zoya and Rose just got ready. The sisters head downstairs with their belongings and get some breakfast, and shortly after, so do the brothers. After everyone eats, the boys receive a text from their dad with the address of the beach house. Then, everyone loads their things in the trunk of the boy's car. Out of kindness, Zach goes to help Rose with her bag since she's closest, and Lonokai goes to help Zoya with hers.

Rose looks puzzled, "Hey, psst!" She whispers.

"Hmm?" He lifts his head, "What?" Zach whispers back.

"Why are you helping me? You should go help Zoya!"

"But I'm just -" 

Rose snatches her bags and shoos him away, and he goes to help Zoya.

Zach speedwalks to Zoya and grabs her bags from Lonokai's hands, "I'll take those, thank- OH MY GOSH," He yelps and everyone turns to him, "WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN HERE, WOMAN?"
