The street we walk on is a bit quiet. Night slowly setting in. We make ourselves alert of our surroundings. Making sure we don't come across any 'pharas' who'd want to steal our belongings on our way to the building. A few cars are passing as the robot lights changes colour. The incandescent streetlights against the trees added to the mood. Melissa jumps on my back after releasing a wicked laugh. We're all holding apple munch popsicles as we get into a bubbly vibe.
"Okay JP, your turn." Kapinga tells Jackie to get the game going.
"Ayy, your ugliness is a crime, dawg." Jackie says. "They waai put you in jail for it."
"At least I'm only going to jail for it." Tyron says. "What about you? You the one that's chasing girls away with your ugly face."
A round of laughter occurs in the group.
"Ayy KP why you laughing?" Jackie asks. I can see the defeat in his eyes already. "Ayy, you so ugly when you were born the doctor tune 'Where's the baby?"
"Oh, you so ugly when you were born your parents asked for a refund."
Jackie lays his eyes on Melissa.
"Ayy Melissa." Jackie licks his lips. "You so hot, global warming is jealous of you."
"Seriously, is that the best you can do?" Melissa asks. Jackie only raises his shoulders. "Tell me. Is being stupid a profession or are you just gifted?" Melissa snaps.
The sound effects that we uttered after Melissa's roast was the loudest.
"Ooh so you doing me like that now?" Jackie says. "Okay."
Melissa sent a sign for me to put her down. "Huh-uh, don't patronise me my ou." She complains. "I'm way too young to be patronised."
"Hey, what's patronise?" I frown.
"How the hell am I supposed to know."
A disk is pressed against the mechine at the gate of the building and Tyron swings the gate open. There's an awkward vibe between us. He's been giving mesus looks the whole time we walked to the building. It's probably because of what happened earlier.
Jackie chuckles. "Aww, it's so cute when you talk about things you don't understand."
"Yeah, whatever Jackie. At least I have a brain."
I quickly make my way to my cousin's flat. Dodging the game since it was my turn to exchange roasts. Melissa follows behind me. We run to the first block whilst giggling about the matter.
"Djimmy I'll catch you." Jackie's voice echoes through the hallway.
The blocks are a bit quiet. Everyone is in their flats except for some of Mama Regina and Mama Sakina's kids. There's a pleasant aroma coming from Shanga's flat.
"Yes!" I perk up. "We're having rice and beans today."
The smell of fragranced rice lingures around my nose as we walk pass DaMwadju who was dishing out the rice onto a big plate in the kitchen. We greet her and make small talk as we walk to the living room. We find the mat that we usually eat food on already layed on the floor with a bowl of water on the side. Ester's sitting on the sofa watching one of her favourite Bollywood series on Zee World. If big sister were to be here, Ester and her would be vibing on a whole other level.
The door opens and Mary rushes into the room. I notice Jackie and gang are taking long to come to the flat and Alex is nowhere to be seen.
Food finally comes. A big plate of rice and beans with chicken soup is placed in the centre of the mat. Whilst sitting on the floor, we wash our hands and start eating.
"Eh Esta, I forget to bring it the bananas." DaMwadju says.
"Shoo, George!" Ester remarked, using a hood word to describe DaMwadju's poor knowledge of the language.
That awkward moment when I try not to laugh so that my cousin doesn't feel uncomfortable happens but the facial expressions on everyone's faces makes it hard for me.
"Ayy, Ester, you wrong ekse, you wrong." I chuckle before correcting my cousin.

"...then he was like 'There's no one here. Which means we all aone.' Gosh you would've seen the look in his eyes." I say.
"Okay, skip to the part when he gives it to you." Melissa says.
Melissa and I move our head a little closer to each other. We sit by the couch in her living room, facing each other in the darkness of the room. The only form of light is from Tyron's laptop that's on the coffee table.
I put an arm over the pillow that's on my thighs. "We didn't fuck."
"Wait, why not?"
"Okay, check, there was a series of questions that I answered 'no' to which lead to his delicate kisses on my shoulder all the way down to my chest. I could feel his warm breath crashing on my skin. My heart beated faster by the start of our unholy deed. He gently bit my nipples, sort of played with them with the tip of his tongue and teeth before he could bend down to kiss my stomach. Hands feeling my ass. He looked up at me. Lust filled in his eyes. 'Have you ever been sucked?' He asked. I shake my head. 'I'll suck you if you suck me.' He adds. I agreed. It felt so good, having my member inside his warm mouth. Only to be tickled by his tongue in between all his saliva. I make eye contact with him the entire time which makes it all feel so surreal. I was so close, so close until..." I pause.
Melissa comes closer to me. "Until what?"
"We were interrupted..." I say. "...by Tyron."
