Wake up halfway through the night

Throw my covers on the floor

Need more clothes

Smaller clothes

Lighter flimsy clothes

Need to swim

But I got work to do

Only time I've got

Is when it's just a little cold

Cut my hair off

Cut it all off

I don't really want to

But it's so hot and damp

Clinging to the back of my neck

So hot that even the bugs

Stop biting me

Exhausted and burning

Our only thing in common

Trying to get a tan

But the sun's so strong

I end up burning

Can't eat anything hot

Burns my tongue and my tummy
