Chapter 22

"Y/N!! Why'd you leave me?! You promised you'd always be there for me! Why, Y/N? WHY?!!" I yelled out. I collapse on the ground as I keep on crying out loud. My throat hurts from my curse speech... but above all, my heart is breaking.

-Days Without You-

Y/N P.O.V

I moved away from Jujutsu Tech. I ended up in a small village. Maybe this is where I can restart my life and start anew. I found myself a small house to rent. It may be small, but it's more than enough for me.

When I first came to this village. The aura is dark and there are a lot of curses wandering around. The people here gets sick pretty easily due to the curses' presence. So as a Jujutsu Sorcerer, I exorcised them.

Now the village have become more lively. Everyone thinks I'm some kind of blessing sent by the God for them. At first, I told them I'm just an ordinary girl. But they didn't believe me. Since all their problems seem to end after I stepped my foot here. So in the end, I just let them do whatever they want.

"Y/N-Nee!!" I hear someone called out for me. I turn my head to see a little girl. She rushes towards me with a grin. I crouch down a little so I can be on the same eye-level as her.

"Can I help you?" I asked. She grabs my hand with a smile on her face. "Mama is cooking some delicious meals! She wants me to come and invite you!! Will you please come? Mama's cooking is very delicious!" She said. She starts giving me puppy eyes, making my heart melt. I smile softly and gently pat her head.

"Sure... I'll come" I said. She cheers happily and start to pull me with her. I just smile as I follow the little girl to her house. Along the way, everyone keeps on greeting me as I walk passed them. Everyone here is very welcoming to me. It makes me feel at home. But I still feel empty... without him.

Eventually, we reach her house. "Mama! Mama!! I brought Y/N-Nee with me!" She yelled out. I hear footsteps coming closer. Her mother comes to view and grins at the sight of me.

"It's so nice for you to drop by, sweetie..." she said. I just smile and bow my head slightly. "I hope I won't be causing too much trouble..." I said, smiling at her. She wave her hand dismissively.

"Oh nonsense. This village have been more lively ever since you came" she said. I just smile at what she said. My heart feels warm at the way she feels about me. She walks towards me and gently grab my hand. "Please... come in! Come in" she said. I take off my slipper and make my way inside the house.

The little girl leads me to the dining room, ushering me to sit down. I take a seat on one of the seats, with her sitting next to me. She grins happily. I smile and gently caress her head.

"You didn't tell me your name..." I said. Her eyes widen at what I said. "I'm sorry, Nee-San! My name is Midori" she said. I nod my head, and gently pinch her cheek.

"Cute name, for a cute girl" I said. She blushes at what I said, and giggles softly. I let out a soft giggle at her cute reaction. I turn my head when her mom enters the room.

"Please enjoy the meal..." she said, placing a plate in front of me. I bow at her and smiles. "Thank you for the meal" I said. I grab the spoon and start to eat. I feel their eyes on me. I turn my head to look at them to see them staring at me in anticipation. I swallow the food and smiles at them.

"It's delicious..." I said. Midori's mother smiles at me. She wraps her arms around me, making me froze. I've never been hugged by someone like this. Except for Toge. It... makes me feel like I have a mom.

I lower my head, letting my bangs cover my eyes. I bit my lips as my body starts to shake. Tears starts to stream down my cheeks.

"Why are you crying, Nee-San?" Midori asked. I turn my head to look at her and smiles sadly. She stare at me with a worried gaze. I wipe my tears and gently caress her head.

"I've always been alone... I've never had the chance to feel what it's like to have a mother" I said. I hear a gasp and turn my head to look at Midori's mother. She have her hands covering her mouth as she stare at me in shock.

"Oh you poor thing. How about you just move in with me? I'd love it if Midori have an older sister like you. What do you say, Midori? Do you want Y/N-Nee to be your older sister?" She said, turning to look at her daughter. Midori stands up on the chair and clasp her hands together with a wide grin. 

"Yes! Please!! Please, Nee-San? Please be my sister! I've always want to have a sister. Pretty pretty pretty please?" She said, turning to me with a pleading look. I let out  a laugh at her reaction. I let out gasp when the chair lose its balance. I quickly catch her before she hits the ground.

"See? You even have a sister instinct" her mom said. I turn to look at her and smiles sheepishly. She smile softly at me. "So... what do you say, Y/N? Will you be a part of my little family?" She asked. I turn to look at Midori to see her nodding her head, still looking at me with a pouty face.

"I'd love to be..." I said. Midori smiles happily and throws her arms around my neck, making me yelp. Eventually, I start to laugh as well and hugs her back. Her mother smiles as she gently caress my head.

"From now on... you can call me mom..." she said. I smile softly at her and nod my head. "Okay, mom..." I said. She smiles happily and joins the hug. I close my eyes as I let out a happy sigh. But even with this much happiness. My heart still feels that familiar longing.

These days without him truly is the hardest for me. Not a day passed without me missing him. My mind would always find itself wandering back to him. To the guy that I've been in love with.

His soft... white hair. His gentle lavender gaze that always stares at me with so much love. His voice that always seem to know how to comfort me and make me feel okay. I miss him so much. Him... Inumaki Toge.
