The next day the Kim elders and Jeons who had stayed the night, stood in the living room early morning gathering youngsters around them.

"Alright. We will be leaving now. Remember to take care of yourself and Pack. Taehyung, arrange the patrolling. It will be more convincing if Yoongi and Namjoon visit to align the orders along with you" Daehyun directs at his son.

"Yoongi, you will stay here in Coral and assist our borders along Taehyung. We share two same borders as Coral. Eunwoo, send two troops of three set soldier wolves to Coral. You'll be in charge of Sapphires until"  Ji-Yeong said looking at his elder son who gave a boring look with a nod.

Jungkook squinted his eyes, his mouth opening in a lisp to speak" But I wanted Eunwoo to stay too".

"Jungkookie, Eunwoo has to handle Sapphires while Yoongi takes care of this bluster," the elder alpha sighs, noticing the frown over his younger son.

"Father--" he was cut off by his mom.

"It is settled. You know it's needed Jungkook, someone needs to be there not Yoongi then Eunwoo, if Yoongi's ok to go back today Eunwoo will stay" the lady interferes seeing her husband giving into the omega's puppy look.

Jeon Ji-Yeong could never resist his son for long, while Chin-hwa equally adores her son she knows the need of resistance, one of them had to hold their ground.

She raises her brows at Yoongi who carries a troubled face. The alpha had decided to spend some time with his mates along with the responsibilities he took on.

Eunwoo snickers at his elder cousin and decides to say "It's fine kook I will be visiting after they return, we will spend some time together."

Jungkook makes a sound of approval, a little sulking, his lips jutting in a pout. Right they both couldn't stay, one of them needed to be in Sapphire.

Taehyung clears his throat, speaking up.

"Father me and Hoseok hyung could have accompanied them instead" Taehyung looks at them still hoping for the changes.

Taehie lets out a tired sigh.

"No Tae, it is the best decision. We accompanied the elders, while you and Jungkook remained here.  You both might have been crowned as the Head Alpha and Luna. It's not long enough; for you and Jungkook to travel–"

Her words were abruptly cut off by Taehyung's cold voice, his expression unreadable.

"Luna would be left here, Mom," he said, his voice steady yet sharp.

"One of us needs to stay in charge—someone in the position."

His declaration was met with a sharp glare from his mother, her authority emanating in the silence that followed.

Jungkook's mouth slightly parted in a silent gasp, his gaze reflecting a mix of hurt, despair and betrayal as he looked over his mate. Does he not realize what he is saying? The words hung unspoken in the air between them, but their weight pressed heavily on Jungkook's chest.

It would probably take weeks, perhaps months to return, his wolf will settle into a deep depression from the distance, his own longing, yearning will mutely perish his own relation to reality he will stand numb and null, the mate bond will carry a breach from the separation, aching– while their mate bond is strong, a mate mark sitting between his neck, they did not consume their bond, it is still in the stages of building, fragile, incomplete, especially when one of them the alpha does not want anything to do with it.
