It was Saturday night and Ally and Ashton were setting up for the party. Ashton had moved everything breakable into locked cupboards. Her parents were both out of town conveniently. Ally was sure they knew Ashton threw parties but they trusted her. Plus Ashton made sure the house looked good the morning after so they really had nothing to complain about.
Around 8:00 people started to show up. At about 10:00, it was getting pretty full. The party consisted of their close friends, jocks and just people wanting a good time. The music was blaring and the majority of people were dancing.
Ally found Romeo in the kitchen so she joined him there.
"How are you liking the party?" She asked, having to stand on her tiptoes to reach his ears.
"It's great." Romeo said, leaning down.
Ally laughed. she had already had a little to drink but she never got drunk.
"Where's Griffin?" Romeo suddenly asked.
Ally shrugged her shoulders, "He said he was going to be a little late."
And at that point, some drunk girl, stumbled into the kitchen looking sick.
"I think I'll take care of this." Romeo said, reaching over to catch the girl, heading to the washroom. Ally gave him the thumbs up.
Ally went to go find Ashton, apparently she was to be found playing never have I ever in the living room. When Ally walked in she was met by Ashton yelling her name,
"ALLY! YOU'RE HERE! EVERYBODY ALLY IS HERE!" And that's when everyone cheered.
Ally grabbed a chair, sitting next to Ashton.
"Ally you should definitely play this game, it's soooo much fun!" Ashton said, slurring her words.
Ally caved and played a few rounds. A few more rounds after, some people were beginning to leave. Ashton would literally scream goodbye and that she hopes they had a good time. Once Ally was done with the game, she just sat back laughing and watching Ashton and the others play. At some point in the night Ally heard the doorbell ring. No one else seemed to notice it so she got up to get it.
When she opened it, Griffin was standing there. Ally slumped against the door frame.
"You're such a gentleman, ringing the bell instead of just coming in." Ally said, and then laughed, "I get why people say gentlemen. Because gentle men."
"Are you drunk?" Griffin asked with concern.
"Just a little bit." Ally said, laughing again, "Come on." And she grabbed his hand.
Ally took him into the living room where Ashton was.
"Look who's here Ash." Ally said.
"Griffin, so glad you could make it!" Ashton said, standing up and shaking Griffin's hand aggressively. But then she started to lose her balance so she sat back down laughing.
"Ash, I'm going to show him the stars." Ally said, taking Griffin's hand again.
"Okie dokie!" Ashton said, giving a wink. The rest of the crowd oohed. Ally ignored them and took Griffin upstairs.
"Where are we going Ally?" Griffin asked, he sounded a bit worried but he trusted Ally.
"Didn't you hear? To see the stars Griff." Ally said, taking him through Ashton's room, opening the window.
"Do you need help getting up?" Griffin asked with concern.
"I've got this." Ally said, and with that she hoisted herself up and stood on the roof, beckoning Griffin to join her.
Ally's hair whipped around with the breeze, but she was anything but cold. She stood with her arms outstretched beside her.
"Isn't it beautiful? " she asked.
Griffin looked at Ally, "Very."
"Let's sit, shall we?" And Ally sat.
Griffin sat beside her. He shivered a bit.
"Are you cold?" Ally asked, and without waiting for an answer, she went back into Ashton's room and came back with a blanket.
She wrapped it around Griffin and then herself.
"Better?" She asked.
"Yeah, thanks." He said.
And then they sat there, looking at the stars. Ally rested her head on Griffin's shoulder and took his hand in hers. She was entwining their fingers together when Griffin spoke,
"I know better to tell you this when you're drunk but I will. I have to." And then he stopped.
Ally looked up at him, "It's okay, tell me."
"I really really like you Ally."
Ally's features softened, "Griff I-."
"Ally?" Said someone from inside Ashton's room.
Ally sighed and looked back at who was saying her name. It was Romeo.
"Hi Romeo." Ally said, taking her hand from Griffin's.
"I was looking for you and someone said you were up here. I didn't realize you had company." he said, icily staring at Griffin.
"Hi Romeo." Griffin said, not hiding his resentment.
It was getting awkward and even Ally who was still a little drunk could see that.
"I think I should be going home." She said, trying to stand, but stumbled a bit. Griffin reached out and steadied her.
"Not like this, did Ashton drive you here, I didn't see your car earlier." Romeo asked.
"Ash drove me." Ally said, sitting back down.
"I'll drive you home Ally if you want." Griffin said.
"On your motorcycle? She is not doing that." Romeo said sternly. Griffin glared back, "I'll drive you back in my car Ally."
"Okay, thanks Rome." Ally said, going to the window. Before she was fully in Ashton's room, she turned to Griffin,
"This will be continued, thanks for tonight Griffin Parker."
Griffin gave her a sad smile. And watched Ally go with Romeo. And he was left on the roof alone with the stars.
