"Class, this is Griffin Parker." Mr. Cooker said, standing at the front of the class, "He's moved here from Los Angeles and I want him to feel welcomed to our school."
"Parker? Like as in Spiderman?" Someone from the back of the class remarked sarcastically. No one responded but a few snickered.
"Enough Austin. Take a seat, Mr. Parker." Mr. Cooker said sternly.
Griffin didn't say anything about the Spiderman remark but he gave Austin a stare that could cut glass. That shut him and his groupies down. Ally let herself smile, but not enough for anyone to see. Griffin sat a few seats in front of Ally in a place where she could study him.
His hair was a deep brown that was swept at an angle. He was wearing a black t-shirt that you could see his muscles under. They were defined but not too much. He was in skinny jeans, wearing Doc Martens to finish the look. He clearly had class. His face was sharp, but at the same time, soft. He was beautiful. Ally didn't know if boys could be beautiful, but Griffin was.
And it was like he could feel her looking at him when he turned around. They made eye contact but only for seconds before Ally blushed and looked away. When she knew he was no longer looking, she snuck another gaze at him. This time, there was a something of a smile, dancing on his lips.
At lunch that day, the noise was at it's all time high. Ally was sitting between Ashton and some other girl with too much perfume on. Ashton was going on about her supply teacher in history and how he was so good looking, but Ally was somewhere else. She kept on looking for Griffin, but she couldn't find him.
Maybe he went out for lunch, she thought.
"Ally, how was English with Mr. Cooker?" Someone asked her from the table.
"It must've been great. There's a new kid from L.A. that's a total hottie!" Another girl said.
"Is this true Ally?" Ashton asked with a wink, nudging my arm with hers.
"Yeah, I admit, he's pretty cute." Ally said shyly.
"Cute? He's gorgeous." The girl from before said
And everyone burst out laughing.
Beautiful, Ally thought.
Later on in the day, Ally was walking to sixth period and was distracted by Ashton texting her about some girl drama. But all of a sudden she ran into someone and dropped her books.
"Ugh God sorry, I wasn't looking." She said, reaching down to grab them.
"It's okay." A voice said.
Ally then looked up and was met by the blue eyes of Griffin.
"I-I-I'm usually not like that, sorry...again." Ally mumbled.
"Let me help." Griffin said, joining Ally on the ground, picking up some of the papers that had gotten out.
"Thanks." Ally said, desperately trying not to make eye contact again.
Once all the papers were picked, Griffin handed the ones he had. Their fingers didn't touch, but Ally wondered what they would have felt like.
"I have to go, thanks for helping." Ally said, starting to walk away.
But Griffin grabbed hold of her arm and said, "Maybe I'll see you later."
Ally lost the ability to speak.
All six period, Ally couldn't concentrate. She just kept on replaying the scene with Griffin in her head. Ally couldn't get his eyes out of her mind. They weren't just any blue. They were the blue of a sea after a storm had passed. Or maybe it was the blue before a storm was to come. The kind of blue that held secrets. They almost didn't match with the rest of him, but somehow that made him even more mysterious.
