The bell just rang indicating the end of the school day. They weren't kidding when they said we gonna go straight back to work from the first day. I already got homework and things to study for. Ion know how I gonna balance all this academic stuff with basketball and my aspirations.
Can't forget the unnecessary pressure of my step-dad too.
I better get my shit together.
"You are all dismissed". Mr Scoch announced.
I placed my notebook in my bag and lifted up off my seat. I walk out the classroom and see my home boys waiting outside. I dap Kaejon and Malik and we walk towards the exit.
"Damnn, you got handed a lot of papers". Malik pointed out.
"Ong, i didn't know we were for real gonna be handed a shit full of homework and assignments". I responded, dapping up the rest of the brothas.
"Y'all tryna hit the spot later?" Jay asked, wrapping his arms around his shorty.
"Nahh, ion know bout that. I got a lot of stuff to do and i kinda wanna rest". I responded. They always tryna go out. I'm started to turn into a home body ain't gon lie.
I like being in my peace.
Plus, I got stuff to do and because of what happened, my momma want me back home before late.
"Ight, anyone else up for it?". Jay asked. He got some ppl up for it but the rest agreed with what i said.
As we were walking through the hallway I spotted Leilani and Kayla slowly walking towards the exit.
Imma be for real.. a huge smile grew on my face. I had to quickly stop before the boys noticed.
"I'll catch up with y'all later, meet me round the corner?" I stated.
"Ight" Kaejon responded, spudding me before walking with the gang.
I walked over to them while fixing myself up. I want to make sure the third time she seems me, I still look good.
"Hey Lani." She immediately turned around like she wasn't expecting anyone to greet her.
"Hey Tae!" She responded. It was nice how she used the nickname also.
