MIKE HELD ARA'S HAND, squeezing it every so often as comfort. Her breathing still wasn't back to normal and she was choking in tears. Max was also beside her and put an arm around her.

She had tried explaining what had happened but they only got a few important things out of her.

El now spoke about what she had endured and Ara tried focusing on her.

"He said that he was building something." El spoke. "That it was all for me."

"Building something.." Max repeated. "Is he talking about the flayed?"

"He must be." Matt replied.

"So, he's building an army, just like we thought." Lucas stated, pacing around the room.

"Yeah, but he's not building this army to spread." He chimed in.

"He's building it to stop Eleven." Will went on.

"Last year, El closed the gate on him. I have a feeling that really pissed him off."

"Like, royally." Lucas added.

"And the Mind Flayer now knows that she's the only thing that can stop him. But if she's out of the way-"

"Game over."

"So he gave Ara these powers to fight against her but is making her choose on being on his side and live or ours and die along with all of us." Max added.

"Well, isn't that just the coolest thing ever." Matt replied sarcastically.

A faint screeching noise was heard.

"Did you guys hear that?" Nancy asked while she walked towards a window.

"It's just the fireworks." Johnathan commented.

"Billy.." Nancy spoke. "When he told you two this, it was here, in this room?"

El and Ara nodded.

Will slowly touched his neck. "He knows we're here." He spoke.

They ran out the door. The fireworks still going off.

It was beautiful how they illuminated the sky but Ara couldn't think about that.

The Mind Flayer was now there. In physical form. And it was trampling through the trees.

----

They barricaded the door and windows of the cabin.

Nancy held her gun strong.

"Get away from the windows." She ordered.

The lights started flickering.

"It's close." Will announced.

The sounds of branches breaking and the rustling of grass and leaves could be heard from the inside.

Objects rumbled and fell down shelves as it came closer.

"Where'd it go?" Max mumbled.

Nothing happened for a moment but everyone stayed on guard.

A tentacle-looking arm reached out through a barricaded window right to El.

Johnathan swung his axe at it and it shrieked in pain.
