TW: A lot of yelling and arguing. Fight. Slight Torture. Maybe more things? Idk

~Atlas's POV~

I grinned at Iris and she returned it. Kai looked between us, confusion written on his face.

"I'll explain later," I whispered to him, bumping him slightly with my shoulder. From that brief moment of contact, I sensed his confusion, spilling out of him in a small stream.

I'm an empath, which means I can sense others emotions, and if they're strong enough, feel them. It becomes a problem sometimes, to many emotions can overwhelm me, especially when I don't know how to control it yet. To help with this, I wear a bracelet to block it, only feeling their feelings when they touch me. There's an exception to that, well three, Onyx, Iris, and Iris's brother, either their emotions are that strong or some kind of extreme magical energy is getting through the block.

"You know what, I don't even want to know," Onyx said glancing between me and Iris, who was still on the couch, "But, apparently we have things to get done so come on." She tried to get up, only to be stopped by Ema who pushed her back into the chair by her good shoulder.

"This arm is dislocated, I'm going to set it first. And no it's not going to just 'get better' so don't even try that. Whatever you need to do can wait until after I'm done here," She said making air quotes when she said 'get better'. Onyx's emotions fluctuated from frustration, to fear, to pain, and back again as she grumbled. Then she processed what Ema had said and started to freak out.

"No, no, no, you are not doing that, that shit hurts like hell, don't even think about it," she said, starting to push herself up in the chair with her foot to get away. Leo had started to come up behind her, looking determined and sorry as if he knew this would be mean. He grabbed her good shoulder and pushed her down, back into the chair, pinning her down. She was terrified now, struggling to get free as she let out small whimpers and pleas to let her go. I felt myself start to shiver, her emotions getting to me. Everyone and everything in the room became apparent, as if I had eyes everywhere, seeing every little detail. It was terrifying and I felt as if I couldn't move, as if I was trapped.

"Please, don't ill fix it, I willl, just let me go," Onyx sobbed and everyone winced. I felt myself take a step back without meaning to, instinctively putting space between Onyx and I. I was petrified, knowing it was Onyx's emotions, but experiencing them all the same. A few tears slip down my cheek and squeezed my eyes shut. I felt Kai slip his hand into mine, concerned.

I opened my eyes again, he was standing in front of me, confusion and concern written all over his face. I looked over at the others, Ema had grabbed Onyx's arm to set it quickly but she wouldn't stop moving, jerking around and trying to wiggle out of Leo's grip. Shit, she's going to hurt herself.

"Wait," I choked out before I could stop myself and Leo and Emma looked over at me.

"Wouldn't it be safer to tranquilize her? She's gonna pull that arm even more and end up hurting herself worse."

I got a dart out of one of my pouches and held it out, Onyx still struggling to get free, sobbing. Ema gave me a calculated look before coming over to take the dart, studying it.

"Is it painful?" She asked spinning it around with her claws. I shook my head and squeezed Kai's hand tighter, trying to focus on his emotions and failing. She looked up at me one more time before walking over to Onyx, sticking her in the arm before she knew what was happening. She went limp and Ema grabbed her arm to set.
