What if you had it all?

Did you know,

when you get older,

everything gets so much colder?

I don't think so.

Did you care,

when I shared your air,

that I was doomed?

I had already bloomed.

Did you understand,

when I told you I wanted to be a bird,

all I wanted was to flee?

I was never herd.

Did you see,

when I cried those tears,

all those times I tried to cover my ears?

I couldn't even disagree.

Did you ever try,

when I asked for help,

to help me fly?

I was as helpless as a whelp.

Did you see how far,

when you saw my wrist and tummy,

and you understood there was no escape to this reality?

I was just one big scar.

Did you ask yourself,

when you saw my picture on that shelf,

if you should call?

What if you had it all?
