Jena woke up the next day, eating her breakfast that she has made before going to work. She heard the bathroom door open, revealing a messy hair Doyoung who just finished brushing his teeth.
Doyoung walked over to his refrigerator, opening it to see what he wanted to make. He quickly took the ingredients and made a nice breakfast in 15 minutes.
"Someone looks messy today." Jena initiated the remark this morning, simply because she was bored.
Doyoung turned towards Jena, leaning closer. "At least I'm not like you who's messy everyday."
"Couldn't be worse." Jena let out a light giggle, realizing that she wasn't angry or pissed at him. Maybe the few weeks of distancing did help.
Doyoung also realized that it was the first time Jena laughed around him since the first month he knew her she was always angry and getting all pissed with him. He didn't respond and let her do her business with leaving to work, watching her get ready.
"About yesterday." Jena spoke up before leaving for work. "Did you really mean what you said about Gaeun and I?"
Doyoung thought about it for a second, recalling exactly what he said about Jena being a much better person than Gaeun. He realized it himself that he needed to let loose and maybe leave the things with him and Jena behind in the past. He had to think straight and logically at this point, realizing his wrongdoings.
"You may be pretty mean at times, but at least you have better human decency than her." Doyoung simply told her, darting into her eyes. He could tell that she was a little intimidated by his stare but she suppressed her feelings about it.
"Thanks Doyoung. It means a lot." Jena opened the door so that she can leave for work. "Are we cool now? See ya soon."
Doyoung heard her shut the door, trying to depict what she had just said. It wasn't normal for him to hear such things from Jena, but also this was the first time she had said bye to him. "Yeah we're cool."
Doyoung mentally smiled after Jena closed the door completely.
"See ya, Jena."

Doyoung didn't know why, but he was itching to go to the Sun and Moon Cafe as the thought of Jena was spiraling in his mind all morning while he was finishing up some homework on his laptop.
He walked into the cafe and saw that it was busy. He was able to put his eye on the girl first thing, running around to finish up orders for the customers. When it got to his turn on the counter after 10 minutes, Jena was at the cashier.
"Hello, how can I help yo-" Jena looked up towards the customer, scrunching her nose and eyebrows in confusion. "Hi Doyoung."
"Hi Jena." Doyoung monotonously replied as he looked at the menu quickly so that he doesn't hold up the customers behind him. "Regular Hot Matcha Cafe please."
"Gotcha." Jena tapped fingers on the IPad and heard her name being called from Haerin, who shot her glares indicating on the IPad. Jena knew this meant to give Doyoung a discount since he was friends with Haerin. "2500 won."
Doyoung took out his credit card and swiped it, paying for the drink. "I won't need a table, I'll just pick it up on the counter and leave."
Jena got his signal and indicated that it was a to-go order. "Homework?" Doyoung nodded with an um hum, leaving the counter to wait on the side. Jena then left the cash register, allowing her other coworkers to take over. She went to make Doyoung's drink.
After finishing up the drink, Jena called Doyoung's number and he walked up to pick up his drink. He thanked her before she left to make other orders. He stood there observing Jena, hardworking and considerate to others. Not long after he left the coffee shop to go back to his apartment, finishing his remaining homework for the day.
-
Jena was preparing to close the shop since there was 30 minutes left. Ryujin came back from her break and helped her clean, along with Aujin and their other coworkers.
Jena heard the door opening, approaching to help the next customer. What she didn't realize was that Haechan came into the shop, simply looking at his cousin who was there. Haein approached Haechan first, asking him if he would like a drink. Haechan told her his regular and she went to go make it for him.
Haechan walked up towards Jena in which the girl stood. "Hey Jena. Do you have a minute or are you busy?"
Jena looked back towards Haerin who basically shooed her off to go talk to him. She turned back to Haechan, shocked that he came to her. "Yeah, I guess I'm free right now."
The two cousins sat down at a table, across from one another. Haerin had given Haechan his drink and he thanked her. There was an awkward silence between the two, until Haechan took a deep breath.
"I'm sorry Jena." Jena's eyes dilated in shock and tilted her head up to face her cousin. "I wish I had a better chance to know you as a cousin instead of listening to Jeno's constant ranting about you."
Jena didn't feel any anger towards Haechan, but instead she felt tranquility. "That's okay Haechan. It's not your fault to begin with."
"I know but, I shouldn't have done it even as a child." Haechan continued. "Taeyong had to convince me that you weren't all bad."
Jena raised an eyebrow, suspicious of what Taeyong had told his younger brother. "How much has Taeyong told you?"
"He said you changed since the last time you were in Korea. But you're also not a bad person, just hard to understand and hard to get close to." Haechan took a sip of his drink. Jena slowly nodded understanding that is pretty accurate after developing trust issues in college. "But I'm willing to get to know you as Jena rather than as 'Jeno's nasty sister.'"
Jena chuckled at the last statement that Haechan made since he put a weird tone in that voice. "I'm also willing to get to know you better Haechan. After all, we are family."
"Thanks Jena." Haechan engulfed her into a hug while Jena reciprocated. This was the first time she hugged Haechan and honestly it felt great. One thing for sure is that she will go home with a smile.
Haechan let go of the hug and checked the time. "You guys are about to close so I'm gonna head out now. Bye cuzzo."
Jena smiled at the new nickname Haechan just gave her and she waved at him. "Bye Haechan."

Jena came home to the apartment and saw that Doyoung still awake, typing out on his laptop on the island table where they ate.
"Hi." Jena said, making Doyoung stop what he was doing on his laptop and looked up at her.
"Hi." Doyoung gave her a small response, feeling slightly awkward as there wasn't a conversation going. He looked at the bowl of pasta that was wrapped in plastic wrap. "Oh yeah, I saved you some spicy rigatoni in case you got hungry after work."
Jena saw Doyoung push the bowl of pasta to her, utterly shocked that he even thought about feeding her. She awkwardly took the bowl and put it in the microwave, heating it up. "Um.... Thank you."
"Mhm." Doyoung went back onto typing on his laptop.
After the pasta heated up in the microwave, Jena took it out, unwrapped the plastic wrap and got a fork to eat the pasta. It was insanely delicious. "I actually love it."
"Really?" Doyoung stopped typing again. "Thank you. It's one of my favorite foods to cook."
"It's one of my favorite food to eat." Jena added, smiling in which Doyoung also beamed a small smile.
"I should make it more often then." Doyoung let out a slight smirk, teasing the girl in which she didn't notice.
"You should."
