Roommates | NCT Doyoung

Jena woke up from her long nap and she felt reenergized already. She made herself a great dinner and she felt so much better even after taking medications. But there was a hint of tiredness that she feels so it was best to stay home from school from the next couple of days.

Jena was reading a book and the door suddenly busted open, revealing Doyoung. She placed her book down, seeing that his expression was very angry. Once Doyoung caught eye of Jena, he abruptly came up to her and carried her and then he sat down on the couch, having her sit on top of him.

Jena was surprised that Doyoung moved her so quickly. She felt his arms around her, heavy breathes  breathing on the crook of her neck. She was definitely flustered but more worried on why he's feeling so angry and sullen.

"What's wrong? Did something happen to you?" Jena's tone was soft, pleasing to Doyoung's ears as his breathes slowed down hearing her sweet voice.

"Parents." Doyoung told Jena and she completely understand, knowing that it was a family issue. She didn't want to push him into talking about it. After all, she had some of her own parental problems too.

Doyoung and Jena stayed in the position for a while, with Jena caressing Doyoung's back and resting her head on top of his. She wanted him to calm down as much as possible.

Jena was also hurt and heartbroken especially when she heard his sniffles, indicating that he was crying. "It's okay Doyoung.... it's okay.... I'm here."

Doyoung's cries remained unchanged with some time passing by they got softer. Jena tilted his head up towards her and she wiped his dry tears. She didn't know what the heck took over her, but she placed a soft peck on Doyoung's lips.

She looked at him like he was the more precious man in the world. Her heart was flying like crazy but she kept her calmness on the outside. When he showed his vulnerability to her just now, she was in love. Not wanting to confirm it at first because they didn't start of very well, but after seeing that he cared about her a lot, she confirmed it in her heart.

"You got home late, Doyoung. Let's go to sleep, hmm?" Jena slowly got off of Doyoung's lap and held his hand. She got him to get up from the couch and she slowly lured him into her room, now laying on the same bed and cuddling.

"Thank you Jena." Doyoung mumbled at the crook of her neck hinting some sadness from his cries earlier. He pulled her closer so that her head was at the crook of the night. "Good night Jena."

"Good night Doyoung." Jena mentally smiled that Doyoung was feeling a lot better and watched his eyes closed in slumber. She didn't sleep her because she was looking at how beautifully he was sleeping.

Jena wrapped her arm around him so that their bodies were pressed against each other, pulling over the duvet higher so they wouldn't freeze to death over night. She reached her head up closer and pecked Doyoung on the lips one more time as sleep took over the night for her.

"I like you. I like you a lot Doyoung."

Doyoung was at school for the next few days and without Jena's presence made him a bit sad as she was typically energetic but also calming to be with throughout the day. He also didn't sleep too well last night because Alice, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo visited their apartment and he knew how that went, loud and crazy. Jaehyun was more on the chiller side out of the 3.

Doyoung bumped into Gaeun, rolling his eyes because he didn't want anything to do with her especially when she chucked Jena with a textbook.

"Where's Jena? I thought she died cause I heard she went to the hospital because she fainted." Gaeun spoke up to Doyoung. "Wish she was there longer."

"Excuse me?" Doyoung raised his voice on Gaeun's unbelievable behavior. "So if you went to the hospital for cancer and recovered, but then someone said that you should have cancer longer. They're basically telling you to die. Are you trying to say that you wanted Jena dying?"

That grew the attention of many students, whispered about how Gaeun was a mean and evil woman and what she just said. Gaeun was getting pissed at Doyoung so much.

"Um... no! You're just twisting my words!" Gaeun heard more whispers about her. "Ugh!" She ran away from Doyoung in the hallway to get away from the crowd.

Stupid ass. What happened to her being obsessed with me?

Taeyong came up and patted Doyoung's back watching Gaeun leave. "Is Jena doing better?"

Doyoung nodded. "Yeah, she's coming back to school on Friday so you'll see her then."

"That's good. I'm also glad that you both are getting closer. I didn't think the roommate idea would last that long." Taeyong told Doyoung giving him a smile.

Doyoung let out a soft smile, recalling the process between him and Jena then up until now.

"Honestly, I didn't think it would last that long either."

"You took Jena home from the hospital?" Haechan asked at the dinner table with all of the 4 housemates eating dinner together. "Did yalls make up or something?"

"Yeah." Jeno nodded, taking a spoonful of his food. "I visited her the next day after she was discharged to bring her food that would help her recover much more quickly."

Haechan and Mark smiled at each other, happy that the two had got along. Originally, their idea was to bring Jena up to Jeno for a meeting with one another through a bailing process and the two siblings seeing each other at a selected location. Guess they didn't need it after all.

"Have yoy brought you mother to Jena yet? Does she know that Jena's in Korea?" Mark threw those questions to Jeno.

"I don't know yet because the business gala is coming up and my dad, step mother, and step brother usually comes to those so it's a stressful time. Jena usually doesn't come cause dad locks her up in the house basically when she was with him." Jeno elaborated on the stress that he's going through. "Hopefully, soon."

"Ugh. Is it that stupid thing your family does every year?" Erin asked to make sure it's the business gala they're talking about. All 3 cousins nodded at Erin and honestly the business gala event is honestly the only reason why all 3 of them collectively were close to Doyoung. "This is my first time going since Mark wants me to be his plus one."

"And I'm thankful for that." Mark held Erin's hand softly as she sarcastically smiled at him. She was happy otherwise.

Jeno and Haechan didn't have plus ones but their parents didn't pressure them into it. If they appeared to be dating, it was just highly encouraged.

"But one thing for sure is that Erin needs a new dress and I'm not wearing the same tux every year." Haechan crossed his arms, slouching on the couch. "We're going shopping this weekends."

"Shopping!" Erin held up her fists, cheering. Mark, Jeno, and Haechan laughed at Erin's antics as they continued dinner.

"Do you think your mother would invite Jena?" Haechan asked, wiping his mouth with a napkin. Jeno remained silent, thinking how the process would work. Jena and their mother generally had a good relationship from what he remembered but it was rather silent since they don't communicate too often.

"Even if my mother invited Jena to the business gala, I don't think she would go." Jeno's had another thought that interrupted his response.

"I don't even think Jena knows that the annual business gala event exists."
