Jena was crying miserably for the last 30 minutes. She cocooned herself under her duvet but she sat and placed her knees together. Her arms were wrapped around her legs and part of her back was resting against the headboard.

She couldn't believe what just happened to her. Who would do such a thing? And why her? Jena felt like her life was going to hell. She knew it was a project but it's a project that will help her in the future. She felt like a failure. Maybe she should've checked against to make sure but honestly her head was going in circles.

Not long after, Doyoung got home from school and entered Jena's room. He can see the figure under the duvet and his heart teared even more with the sound of her crying. Doyoung made his way to her bed, siting down on the edge of her bed, and uncovered the duvet to reveal Jena. His heart sank even more as he saw the view of Jena.

"Jena baby...." Doyoung pulled Jena closer for a hug and Jena cried harder on Doyoung's shoulders. Her tears were muffled but they were painful enough that Doyoung was started to feel sad for her too. He rubbed circles on her back with his hand, attempting to calm her down. "It's okay baby..."

Jena's arms circled around Doyoung and she just kept crying. She didn't care if his shirt was stained but honestly she just needed someone by her side at her lowest. Doyoung had been there all along. "I don't know- I don't know how it happened...."

"We will get to the bottom of this I promise. I know you worked so hard on it. Don't dwell on yourself baby." Doyoung used that pet name often for her and honestly she was the first person that he used baby on.

Jena eventually grew a liking to the pet name, knowing that maybe Doyoung had feelings for her. She couldn't get too ahead of herself since she was crying. "I- I..."

"Don't speak anymore." Doyoung softly spoke to Jena as she trembled with her breathing, unable to compose full sentences. "Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breath out. You got it. I believe in you."

Jena started following Doyoung's directions as she felt Doyoung's chest rising too. He was doing the breathing exercises with her and she appreciated it a lot.

Jena started to calm down from crying due to exhaustion and Doyoung tucked her into bed. He watch her eyes close, ensuring that she's fallen asleep. Her breathing has eventually became normal and he was happy that she was sleeping peacefully.

Unfortunately, a memory had struck Doyoung, realizing how far he has been with Jena.

*FLASHBACK*

"Eunjin? What happened? Why are you crying? Doyoung came into her room where she was crying, head on her desk and arms covering her face.

"I got into a fight with Eunseo, my parents suddenly wanted to stop supporting the both of us because they're getting a divorce. I suddenly have no money, and everything is going down hill." Eunjin put her head up from her desk wiping her tears while Doyoung sat on the edge of her bed.

"Did this all happen today?" Doyoung asked his girlfriend and she nodded.

"It's okay. I'm always here for you. Everything will be okay." Doyoung hugged Eunjin so that her cries slowed down and then he tucked her in the bed, allowing her to sleep for the night.

"Are you seriously hanging out with Song Minjae even though you heard all my warnings about him? He's bad news!" Doyoung got furious at Eunjin for spending so much time with him.

"He's just a friend! And just because he's a basketball player at school that doesn't mean anything! I can hangout with whoever I want! You're still my boyfriend so I don't know what's the problem!" Eunjin exclaimed to Doyoung."I promise there's nothing between him and I! You can even ask Alice!"

"You're not even close with Alice! Don't bring her into this!" Doyoung shouted at his girlfriend. He doesn't know the friendship between Eunjin and Alice but according to Alice they were friends, but not besties.

"Well, I don't know what to do because... okay I still love you! Can I make it up to you at least? Cuddles? Date? A whole month to you?" Eunjin's tears started to fall. "Please..."

"We're breaking up." Doyoung stopped everything because this was the 4th time they were having the fight about Song Minjae. "I'm tired of this."

"Okay." Eunjin tried to prevent herself from crying. "I'll go take a breather."

Doyoung let her leave the apartment, heartbroken of what just happened. He sighed and sat on the couch of their apartment. Little did he know, he got a call from Eunseo saying that she got into a car accident and was at the hospital.

"Please tell me she isn't gone?" Doyoung begged as Eunseo was on the brink of tears.

"I don't know Doyoung. The doctors are trying to help her. She looked so torn and I want her to be alive too." Eunseo started wiping her tears but she had to stay strong for her older sister.

The doctors came out with the saddest expression, looking extremely tired as they looked at Doyoung and Eunseo.

"I'm sorry, we did all that we could but we can't." The doctor took a deep breath.

"We lost the patient, Kim Eunjin at 10:37pm. She's no longer alive."

*END OF FLASHBACK*

Doyoung blinked so many times while looking at Jena who was sleeping on the bed. That was the same bed that Eunjin slept on 2 years ago while they were together and the same desk Eunjin cried on. Doyoung started sweating but got emotional as he shut his eyes bitterly.

Jena was the sweetest girl he had ever met, not realizing he feel in love with her. But after recalling the tragedy of his ex-girlfriend Eunjin, he was scared of hurting Jena too.

It broke his heart to do this but the only was to prevent Jena from getting hurt was to shut her off.

And it was the last thing Doyoung wanted to do.
