Your bedroom ceiling, It's the only thing you can really focus your mind on as you stare Apathetically at it from your bed. After 2 hours of rolling Around in your bed Tears turning into angry screams into your pillow and then back into tears you were just... tired.

But still too tired to sleep.

Everything was wrong, everything had gone wrong. All in the course of only 2 days, what did you do wrong? What could you have possibly done better?

Why was this happening̸͇̫͂̾͝?

You were thrust out of your thoughts by the sound of your phone ringing. You grabbed your phone, wondering who the fuck would call you at 12:25 on a Tuesday night.

You saw your screen light up with a number you didn't recognize. Sighing, about to decline the call, you find your flinger slipping and pressing "answer".

You curse under your breath as you move to hang up until you here a familiar voice quip "well fuck me for calling to check in on you".

You pause and let out a breath, the last person you expected to have to talk to tonight was Cassie. However if you're honest...you want a distraction. hell, you need a distraction after all that's happened.

"I-Im sorry Cassie. It's just a lot has happened" you hear a scoff come from the other end of the line. "Tell me about it, the cheer coach busted our asses today. Anyways-you're coming to the pep rally tomorrow right?". You let out a forced chuckle as you mumble "honestly...Im not sure if I'll even come to school tomorrow...". You hear silence on the other end, a chilling silence.

"Cassie?" "-hm? Oh yes sorry you just suprised me y/n why aren't you coming? You scared of upstaging me? Because trust me y/n you definitely don't need to worry about that, I look really fucking hot in my cheer outfit".

A giggle escapes your lips-a real one this time. As you feel the weight on your chest lighten just a little bit. It feels good to finally giggle after hours of confusion. "I'm sure you will Cassie but it's not that..." you trail off your fingers tightening around the phone. "Then why aren't you coming?" Cassie asked a bit more directly. "Why do you want me there so badly?" You chuckle feeling your voice becoming lighter. "Because I...." you hear Cassie sigh and the rustle of what you assume to be her sitting upwards on her bed.

"I feel like if I hadn't been such a bitch to you on your first day we could've had a pretty chill friendship." you hear her trail of as you stiffen. Your'e a bit scared to ask but you can't help it, the words immediately leave your lips. "Then why did you do it?"

Cassie goes silent and you consider changing the subject until her words come through slow and exhaustedly. "Because...there's something about you y/n and i'm sure you've been told this a lot but...i dont know. It's as if the world itself revolves around you and yet you don't even notice.". Your lips form a tight line " what do you mean?" first ẃ̵̢̡̰̯͙̭̙̖̲̦̺ͅä̵̢͈̼̦͔̬̼̊͐̊̐̈́̄̕̚͜ͅl̷̢̢͔͕͈̪͎͈͓̥̰̋͐̊̽́̕t̴̫̽̔̒̚é̶̱̱̗̖͒͝r̴͙̤̰̯̳̹͕̄̀́̒͐̇͒

First Cooper, then Cassie, both have told you how you were 'so special' it was beginning to grate away at you. If the world revolved around you, if everyone loved you so much, why was it tearing your life apart?

"Y/n" Cassie's voice broke through your thoughts. "Oh-um sorry I spaced out" you apologize as a prissy huff and a chuckle respond to you on the other end. "wow y/n I pour my heart out to you and you space out? So rude" she says sarcastically as you sigh. "It's cute though, that must be why so many people like you" you hear her purr from the other end of the line.

"Anyways I was saying that it's as if your...disconnected from this place. If that makes sense. Someone uncorrupted by the shit that goes on in Avonwood, your...like a breath of fresh air, if that makes sense".

"Cassie..." you smile, so it's all just because you weren't born in Avonwood. You feel a cloud of relief pass through you as it sets in, the world doesn't revolve around you, everyone is normal, and everyone is fine.

"Anyways-" Cassie quips changing the subject "my dad will throw a fit if he sees im talking to someone but I just wanna confirm, you'll be there for the pep rally right?". You smile nodding "yeah definitely, especially since Cooper is taking me-" you snap your mouth shut, but it's too late.

Cassie's tone goes ice-cold as she asks "what?" your heart picks up speed again, no, you can't let this be ruined to,. Your'e not going to let it be ruined! "It's not like that! Sorry Cassie i forgot about your past with him! If you don't want me too i completely understan-"

"Its.fine." she breathes calmly into the phone, "just...be there for my cheer routine okay?". "Cassie I mean it I don't want to hurt you-" Cassie interrupts you again "I said it's fine y/n. Just tell me you'll be there". You don't know what else to do, she's eerily calm about it all so just nod "ill be there cassie". Her tone instantly goes back to normal as she perks up "alright then!Bye bitch-".

Cassie hangs up and suddenly you miss the sound of her voice.

Not exactly knowing what else to do you find yourself slowly, ever so slowly sinking back into your covers. Pulling them over yourself as you finally feel sleep take hold of you.

Ȇ̴̻than doesn't show up to school the next day, and you can feel the weight of his absence hit you throughout the day. The walk to school made you feel as if you were going to barf, each step becoming heavier and heavier. The thought of Ethan's fight with you yesterday made you sick, you dreaded having to see his face in mr,Benner's class however when you walked into the room and saw that empty seat next to yours...you felt your stomach sink to the floor.

"Mr.Benner?" the older man looks up from his laptop at you, adjusting his glasses to get a better look at you. "Um, Ethan isn't here today so i'm not sure how I'll be able to do the assignment today" you fiddle with your fingers as Mr.Benner's eyes soften "oh y/n i appreciate you coming to me about this but...I don't believe we have an 'Ethan' in our class".

Your body goes cold as the words echo in your head.

"But ...Mr.Benner! The partner project, I was assigned with Ethan Creed.." you see Mr.Benner's eyes flick back to his laptop as he types something furiously. He scrolls as you feel you nerves building within you, only to crash when you hear his words. "I'm sorry I don't believe there ever was an 'ethan' in our class. Or that i gave you a partner at all...y/n just hang tight and ill have you work with another group for now.". You want to scream, you want to curse the poor man out and look through his laptop yourself. So much fear, guilt, and confusion boils within you and you feel yourself shaking. The worst part is...it all feels so familiar, as if something like this has happened before and it's all crashing back to you.

But, you can't do anything about it. There's nothing you can do to fix this, so you find yourself silently walking towards your desk and sitting down for class.
