"Mike, can you wash the dishes? I'm late". I asked him while I was conveying my hair in a ponytail.

"Yeah, don't worry. I'll clean too, so tomorrow we just have to move your bags".

"Thank you". I kissed his cheek. "See you at night".

"Have fun".

"I will". I ran out of the building.

Actually, I didn't know how much fun I was going to be able to have since my friends were going to kill me that afternoon. The previous day, I told them that I had gotten back with Mike and I almost went deaf with their yelling through the phone. We were going to meet at our usual spot that afternoon.

"There is she, the one that doesn't learn her lesson even when she's cheated twice by the same scumbag". Kayla was definitely mad.

"Hi, how are you?" I said sitting with them.

"I won't be the one comforting you when Mike dumps you again".

"Kayla, please..." I said rolling my eyes.

"Well, I don't think it's the smartest decision you've made but it's up to you", said Lily sipping her smoothie.

"It won't last. I give you a month". Kayla crossed her arms on her chest. I sighed.

"Thanks for your good wishes". I gave her an evidently fake smile.

"Oh, I do have good wishes for you. I wish you find a better boyfriend, I wish you could love yourself a bit more so you don't stand men like him ever again". Kayla breathed heavily and sighed. "I'm sorry. I'm going overboard. It's just... ugh. Why?" She asked exasperated.

"I don't know. He was waiting for me at my door and I just couldn't say no".

"Well, Kayla, you did the same a few years ago. Didn't you?" Lily turned to her.

"Yeah, I did. That's why I don't want either of you going through the same".

"It's a bit late for that". I chuckled. "On another note, you said you had good news for us".

"Yeah, Alex's right. What was it?"

"Why are you helping her to get away with this?" Kayla asked Lily, frowning.

"It doesn't matter what we say to her. She's going to do whatever she wants". She shrugged her shoulders. Kayla sighed shaking her head and stared at both of us helplessly.

"Right. I got a boyfriend".

"What?" Lily and I exclaimed in unison.

"Were you dating someone?" I asked.

"Who's he?" Lily followed.

"He's a teacher from the school. His name is Nicholas". She said while a smile formed on her face.

"Whoa... She's in love girl". I rested my back on the chair taken aback.

"Why are you so surprised?"

"You didn't say a thing. We didn't even know that you were seeing someone". Lily started to say.

"What if it didn't go well?"

"We'd have been here for you. Duh". I said it as the most obvious thing in the world, because it was.

"Well, that's the news I had for you. If he passes the three months trial, I'll introduce him to you".

"You're so strict". Lily laughed at Kayla.

"There's a phone ringing". I checked mine but it wasn't the one ringing.

"It's mine, it's mine". Lily opened her bag and took her phone. "Hello?" She answered and gave us a look to wait a minute. "What? Now?" She rolled her eyes. "Ok, I'll be there in half an hour. See you".
