Ryan woke up around twenty minutes later. I heated the gnocchi and serve the food. He sat in front of me in silence, I could tell he was thinking about something very serious. We started eating just like that, neither of us seemed eager to talk. Ryan was playing with the food on his plate, his gaze glued to it.

"Ryan". I called him.

"Hm?" He looked up at me.

"We need to talk". Ryan's eyes opened widely, he looked somewhat scared. He took a deep breath and sighed.

"Yeah, I think so too". He said finally.

"Where did you spend the night?"

"At Jan's apartment. But it's not what you are thinking".

"What am I thinking?" He looked at me troubled, he started to play with his fingers. "I saw the photo of Britanny kissing you on Instagram".

"I can explain, I can, I swear". He said extending an arm to me as if I were to stand and leave.

"I'm all ears".

"We were at the club, hella drunk already because we drank too much at Jan's apartment before going. We were playing around and Britanny came out of nowhere and kissed me. She took me by surprise, I didn't kiss her either, I swear".

"Why did you not come back then?" He sighed once more.

"After the club, we headed to Jan's apartment for a few rounds more. I lost track of time-"

"Did Britanny go with you too?"

"Yeah, well... Argh". He exclaimed frustrated and scratched the back of his head. "At Jan's, I know you told me about this but-". He sighed. "We were drinking and played a round of truth or dare and it came out that Britanny likes me, she made a scene and Jack stepped in, then it was too awkward to leave just like that. I wanted to talk with her properly too so I thought it was better to stay and talk things out as soon as I could. I just could talk with her this morning before coming back. That's what happened". He sighed again, done like he was getting a headache just from thinking about it. I kept silent analyzing what he just said. Ryan wasn't good at lying; he wasn't good at masking either so I felt relieved. He was being honest.

"I thought the worst, gosh". I sighed and finally relaxed. See? Overthinking was poisoning me for free.

"What did you think?" We exchange a glance, a knowing glance. "Oh, God. No!" He exclaimed, disgusted

"You never know". I shrugged my shoulders. "What did she say?"

"We are just friends".

"Friends?" I lifted an eyebrow.

"Yeah".

"She kissed you knowing you are dating me, even more, knowing that you live with me, and you think she will be happy staying as a friend?" I exclaimed. "You're kind of lost about some things, Ryan".

"I know it may sound like bullshit, but let's see how it goes. Anything weird and I'll cut her off at once".

"Why?" I frowned.

"I love you". He said emphasizing the last word.

"Bring the soap, I have to clean that face of yours". He laughed showing his cat smile as bright as the sun.

"Just clean it yourself". He leaned over the table and kissed me still smiling.

"Please, eat. I won't heat it twice. Keep your dirty thoughts for later". He winked at me and started eating.

The mood kept light the whole afternoon. I started to question myself how in the world I thought Ryan would be capable of cheating on me? I was blinded by the recent events for sure.

"Ryan". I called him. We had just made love and he was hugging me.

"Hm?" He hummed letting me know he was hearing.

"I love you".

"I love you more". He hugged me tighter.
