Turns out, Jasper and Rosalie were twins and it showed. Bright blonde hair, and golden eyes, both incredibly beautiful. They looked like Carlisle and his daughter, Anne. What didn't sit right with me was that they said they were from Texas but didn't look or sound like it. They didn't act like any Texans I knew. Especially Rosalie. That girl acted like a bratty New Yorker, and I've met some New Yorkers. Jasper had the drawl and the mannerisms, but his pale skin was off-putting. But I didn't question it. After being acquainted with my cousins, as weird as they and their family seemed, and turning down the invitation to Bella's birthday party, Nana and I went home for the night.

3 days later, however, cops were in front of Chief's house at 9 p.m. Running out in my pajamas, with pants instead of shorts, I ran across the street and into the chief's driveway. A couple of police cruisers, besides Charlies, were pulled up in front of the house and there were search dogs and a few random people on the front lawn. Three random tan men. Two around Charlie's age, one around mine.

"I'm gonna try the Cullen's place again." I heard Charlie say. I watched as he picked up a phone.

"The Cullen's left town, Charlie." Said a tan man in a wheelchair.

"Good riddance." Said a man on Charlie's right.

"Where'd they go?"

"What do you mean they left town?" I asked as I walked up to them. The three men looked up at me. "What's goin' on?"

"Daisy, what are you doing out here? It's freezing." Charlie looked at me sternly, his fatherly instincts coming into play.

"I'll be fine. What's goin' on?" I repeated my earlier question. "And what do you mean the Cullen's left town"

"Bella's gone missing. Ever since she got home from school, I can't get a hold of her or anything." Charlie said, panicking. "Have you seen her? At all?"

"Not since I saw her truck pull up to your house. I'm sorry, Charlie." I apologized, taking note of the sadness and worry in his eyes. If she's missing for much longer, or worse, if she's dead, this poor man's gonna break.

"We'll find her, Charlie." Said the man on his right as he patted the man on the back comfortingly. Charlie looked at him and smiled while a tan boy with long black hair turned to the woods, making me look as well.

"Charlie." The boy said, catching the man's attention. A man with tan skin and cropped black hair walked out of the woods in cut-off jean shorts and no shirt holding a brunette girl in his arms.

"She's all right." The man said. I watched as Charlie ran over to him, quickly taking the girl in his arms. That must be Bella.

"I got her. Thank you, Sam." Charlie looked at the man and quickly turned and rushed his daughter into the house. A weird interaction occurred with this Sam guy and the long-haired tan kid that seemed to be my age, if not a little older. I looked over at the grey-haired tan man.

"Harry?" I asked. "I heard Charlie call you that."

"That's me. Who are you?" The man asked me.

"I'm Daisy-May Beauregard. I'm the Chief's neighbor. Just moved in earlier this week." I quickly introduced myself to the man. "What do you mean the Cullen's left town?"

"They left earlier today. They didn't say why." The man before me said. "Why do you ask?" I pulled my cardigan tighter around me.

"My cousins were adopted by the Cullens." I looked at the ground. I didn't get a chance to properly connect with them. Harry opened his mouth to say something but was quickly cut off.

"Daisy!" Nana's voice called from across the street. I quickly turned and saw her standing at the top of the driveway.

"Nana! I thought you had gone to bed." I said in a surprised manner. "I saw the cops over here and got curious, is all."

"Well, come inside. It's cold out here. I don't want you catching a cold." She turned and walked back down the drive, retreating to the house. I quickly turned back to Harry.

"Do you live in La Push?" I asked him.

"Yes, how'd you guess?"

"Lucky guess. I was wondering if you'd know anyone that could give me a look around. Rose wouldn't take me over there, something about a long-lasting family feud, but from what I've heard from Charlie, it's beautiful over there and I wanna see it." I said. I wasn't one to go against an elder's wishes, but my grandma was being weird about it, and my cousins and their adopted family were even weirder, especially with the sudden disappearance. The older man looked at me with a small smile on his face.

"Yeah, I can introduce you to my wife and kids." He nodded. "I'm sure my son would gladly do and I can convince my daughter to join you." I smiled at him.

"Perfect. Does Saturday work? I figure your children will be in school tomorrow." I offered.

"Seth will be, Leah graduated last year. I can have her show you around tomorrow if you'd like?" Harry offered. I sighed.

"That works for me. I'll tell my nana that I'm going over to check on Bella and Charlie or something." I smiled at him and bit him goodnight, retreating into my house with my grandmother. When I reached my bedroom door, I paused, looking at my nana's room. Her bedroom door was cracked open, unlike most nights when it was shut all the way. Her lamp was on, but she was nowhere in sight. I heard the bathroom door open, causing me to spin around as Nana Rose walked out.

"Get some sleep, dear. It's getting late." The elder woman grabbed my hand and kissed my forehead. I was shocked to feel her skin was ice cold instead of warm like mine. She gently guided me into my room. "Goodnight, Daisy."

"N-night, Nana." I stuttered. I shut my bedroom door slowly, watching as she walked into her own. When her door shut, I shut my door completely and locked it. No one's skin should be that cold unless they use got done swimming... not even then. My thoughts spiraled a bit, making my head spin and making me dizzy. I sat down and took a couple of deep breaths to calm myself. It's nothing. Maybe she washed her hands with cold water. I sighed and shut off my bedside lamp and laid down, quickly falling asleep.

Later that night, I woke up. I dunno why, but I did, and my throat was dry. Realizing I didn't have any water with me, I got out of bed and walked to the bathroom. Walking back to my room, I saw my nana's door was open again. Weird. I stepped toward the door and saw that her lamp was still on. Even weirder. I heard the front door open and quickly and quietly rushed into my room, shutting the door as quietly as I could. I got down on the floor and peeked under my door. Footsteps were headed toward my nana's room.

"That cougar was delicious." I heard her voice say as her bedroom door opened and shut again. Cougar? Who the hell eats cougar? I got up and sat back on my bed, staring at the doors leading to the balcony. What the hell is she even doing up right now? I looked down at my shaking hands. Something weird was going on here and I was determined to find out what it was, even if I didn't like the answers I got.
