Neymar

February 3, 22

It was past midnight when Morgan came trotting down the stairs. I thought she'd be asleep by now. "Are you sure you don't want me to pick your family up from the airport?" She suggested, making her way past the stairs and towards the couch, where I was sitting.

I set my phone on my lap to indicate she had my full attention. I looked to her, then, and shook my head. "No, it's okay, I should," I cracked a little smile. Morgan sat down next to me on the couch, and I pulled her in.

She had her pajamas on, so she was dressed minimally, but there was a barrier between our skin because I had my sweats on, still.

"You have a match tomorrow, though, you need sleep," she argued, pulling herself closer to me. "I know, I'll be fine," I smiled, kissing her forehead. She smiled at the contact, and then closed her eyes.

"When are you leaving?" She yawned. I let out a soft chuckle. "Probably pretty soon, if that's okay," I shrugged, whispering. She just nodded her head. "Yeah, that's fine," she said.

We sat like that for about five minutes in comfortable silence, I was rubbing her back while she was leaning against me, breathing softly. I didn't know whether she was asleep or not, and I didn't bother to ask.

I got my answer when I heard her voice break the silence. "Can we talk?" She opened her eyes and looked up at me. My heart stopped, and I was hoping it wouldn't be anything that'd ruin our relationship or anything.

"Yeah, what's up?" I stopped rubbing her back, instead I was just caressing it with my hand. "I don't know how we're going to do long distance," she breathed after a minute. I held eye contact with her, and then kissed her forehead again.

I moved my arm to her shoulder, the one furthest away from me. "Well, if you're willing to try, then I am," I whispered in her ear. Her face was still emotionless.

"I definitely am, but I just know I'm constantly going to be worrying," she said, her voice now with sorrow. "Morgan, you have absolutely nothing to worry about," I assured her, to which she softly nodded her head.

"I know I don't, but I will anyway," she defended. I felt my heart break. "Are you saying you don't want to do long distance?" I asked her, a little worried now myself, but I kept my calm tone.

"Neymar, I'd do anything if it meant I could be with you."

Hope restored in my body, and I felt myself let out a relieved sigh. "I promise," I started, but then stopped to find the words. "I promise that I'll never give you a single reason to worry. We've only met a month ago, but already," I paused again. "Already, you mean so much to me," I breathed, kissing her forehead once more. I saw her close her eyes again, and her lips curved in to a smile.

"Neymar, thank you for that. You're amazing."
