Goodbye mate

"SHOO! SHUCK OFF!"

 yelled Thomas swatting away a crow that was pecking at one of the few supply backpacks they have 

"Thomas!, what" cassy says her voice crocked as she woke up

 " are they gone" newt asks as the rest of them wake up 

"yeah, I think were safe" thena replies to newt as she brushed through her knotty blond hair with her fingers

 "pack it up" Thomas says as he picks up one of the backpacks and helps cassy up, thena rolls her eyes and gets up she starts to pick up a bag but newt stops her picking it up instead they smile at each other for a moment before they all start moving, Winston groans in pain

 "you alright" frypan asks Winston helping him up Winston nods at him slightly 

" thank you" he says as they all start walking up stairs made from the broken mall walls they make it to the top revealing an empty yellow beige run down city the seemingly abandoned city stretched across a small stretch of land before suddenly stopping nothing running through what was probably a river but half a bridge 

"looks like a bloody wasteland out there" newt says as they all stand looking at their journey ahead 

"it is a wasteland, how is anyone going to shucking live out there" thena says doubting Thomas's plan 

"we better get going before its dark" Thomas says as she walks further towards the edge of the city walking over crushed buildings checking around corners for any sign of cranks

 "shuck" thena says as they hear a plan go past 

" under here" cassy says as they climb under a fallen over building as a troop of WICKED planes go past 

" u alright lizard boy?" Thena asks jokingly as newt frantically makes sure that thena isn't seen by the planes, newt rolls his eyes and sits down as they wait for the planes to leave 

" their never going to stop looking for us are they" thena says her any newt walking together at the back of he group  

" Im not sure about WICKED but I know whatever happens I'm here with you and I'm not going to let them take you away from me" newt says reassuring thena as they catch up to the group. After a while Thena Strayed off walking by herself and saving her energy, Aris walked up to her and said

 "Hi...I don't think we've met properly umm Im Aris..." thena smiled at him then replied

 "hi Aris, Athena but just call me Thena." Aris raised his eyebrows surprised and over joyed 

"r...really I can use your nickname..." Athena eyed him awkwardly then said 

"yup..." Aris was beaming then walked off as if he'd achieved something. Athena just watched kinda scared then continued walking.

A whirling wind erupts and Sand flys into peoples eyes the gladers race to find shelter as a dust storm starts to form cassy uses her scarf as a wind break as she finds a  rocky shelter under a Brocken bit of bridge, 

" hows it looking?" Newt yells to cassy and Thomas who are standing out in the distance on and sand hill 

" just a little further" Thomas yells back

 " that's not very convincing" newt says as he goes back to sit with thena 

"hey whats up, you seem different since we got out of there " thomas says  concerned for cassy 

" Im fine, but I think there is something up with thena , something she isn't telling us" cassy says before the turns to Thomas at the sound of a gun shot. The two off them run down to the stone shelter. 

"Winston what the heck!" 

"WINSTON!"

 " No!" 

The ruckus of protest was deafening. Winston was crouching in a corner holding a gun. He was pointing it at his head and sobbing slightly. Winston lurched over and coughed up a black blood goop. Thena approached him slowly then snatched the gun from his hands and stepped back quickly. Winston looked up at the gladers and said

 "please... I don't  let me turn out like them..." 

"please don't let me turn out like like those CRANKS!" he spat. Everyone looked at him pitifully. Newt took the gun from thena slowly then held out the gun and pointed it at Winston. Cassy had tears brimming and thena stepped forward preparing to stop Newt. He crouched down then placed the gun in Winstons hands.

 "Good bye mate" he said turning away and walking of clutching Thena's hand. Every one said their good byes. Until Thomas was left. He knelt down and said

 " Im so sorry I couldn't save you." Cassy touched Thomas's shoulder and led him out of the the shelter, as they are walking down the mountain they are all stoped by the echoing sound of a gunshot.
