The promise of hope

The escape

" everything went wrong since you got here "

 gally shouts getting Jeff and Clint to tie Athena up

 " gally please" thena says pleading

 "this doesn't feel right" Clint says as he stops tying Athena up, cassy gives Thomas and newt the signal they run around to Athena and cut her lose she turns around and runs behind Minho and grabs newts hand

 " were leaving , we found a way out when we went into the maze last time, a door opened" Minho says defending them 

" you can come with us now, or stay in the glade for the rest of your life" Thomas says convincing people to come and join them,

 " I cant do that again, newt I cant stay in the maze again" thena says her voice shaking with terror

 " look at me thena, its going to be ok , were going to find a way out " newt says to Athena softly brushing a piece of hair behind her ear, thena nods her head as they all turn around and run into the maze, they make it to the door chuck and Athena run to the door, the device chuck is holding activates a trigger on the door 

"a code , we need an 8 digit code" thena shouts seeing if anyone can come up with an answer

 " the sequence" Thomas shouts at Minho

 " whats the sequence of the doors" 

" 7 1 5 2 6" 

Minho says before getting attacked by a griever , they all help him pushing the griever over the edge

 "4 8 3" 

Minho finishes the sequence and the door unlocks they all crawl through the tunnel together and it leads into a old industrial warehouse hallway there is one door with two lights next to it one showing green, cassy stays close to Thomas as he opens the door thena holding newts hand tightly they walk through slowly the lights on the ceiling are broken, things shattered across the floor, they make it into another room there are computers everywhere with data spread across them all 

" so they were watching us" newt says looking at a computer Athena steps closer to him and rests her head on his shoulder, then  Thomas presses a button triggering a video to play

 " hello, my name is doctor Ava Paige I'm director of operations at the world catastrophe kill zone department , if your watching this it means you've successfully completed the maze trials I wish I could be there in person to congratulate you but circumstances seem to have prevented it, I hear by now you all will be very confused, angry, frightened , I can reassure you that everything that's happened to you, everything we've done to you it was all done for a reason  you wont remember but the sun has scorched our world billions of lives lost to fire, famine, suffering on a global scale but the fallout was unimaginable what came after was worse we call it the flair , a deadly virus that attacks the brain it is violent, unpredictable, incurable,  or so we thought, in time a new generation emerged that could survive the virus suddenly there was a reason to hope for a cure but finding it would not be easy the young would have to be tested even sacrificed inside harsh environments where their brain activity could be studied, all in an effort to understand what makes them different, what makes you different, you may not realise it but your very important , unfortunately your trials have just began as you'll no doubt soon discover not everyone agrees with out methods progress is slow people are scared it may be too late for us, but not for you the outside world awaits remember W.I.C.K.E.D is good"

 Ava Paige  says on video before pulling the trigger on the gun pressed against her head

 " is it over" chuck asks

 "she said we were important"  newts says pulling thena close 

" well what are we supposed to do now" Athena says all of them standing in shock 

"I don't know" cassy replies for Thomas

" but lets get out of here " Thomas says looking around 

" no "

someone says they all turn around 

"gally?!"

 Thomas says as he starts to walk towards him 

"stop, he's been stung" cassy says pulling Thomas back  

" we cant leave" gally says holding a gun in one hand, his hands shaking

 " we did gally, were free" Thomas says scared of what gally might do next

 "free, you think were free out there, no, no theres no escape from this place " gally says the virus overtaking him

 " gally listen to me, your not thinking straight, we can help you just put down the gun, please" thena says fearing for all their safety

 "I belong to the maze , and why would you help me after what I did to you" gally says his hands still shaking 

 " just put down the gun please" newt says stepping in front of thena to protect her

 " we all do!" Gally says finishing his sentence 

" Minho throws a spear at gally impaling him at he pulls the trigger shooting the gun, as gally falls to the ground 

" Thomas..."

chuck says weakly his shirt staining with blood 

"no no, chuck" Thomas cries catching chuck as he falls to the ground 

" chuck please , chuck, chuck!"

  Thomas says talking slower with every word

 " tommy I'm sorry" cassy says trying to comfort him, thena turns around and buries her head into newts chest as she hugs newt  but then she sees something 

" people, theres people" thena says worried but hopeful

 "hey, its ok"

 "go go, get out" 

deep male voices shouts towards them running in through a door down a hallway they start leaving out through the door 

"tommy please come on, their helping us, please tommy" cassy says trying to get Thomas to leave before one of the men pulls him away getting him to leave.
