-Vanya watched with thinly veiled disgust as the boy who had yelled at Sero yesterday sadistically toyed with the green-haired boy, Midoriya.
The blond boy, Bakugo, could end the exercise in a moment if he just used the capture tape yet he continued to fight with Midoriya. As if he enjoyed batting him around as a cat did to a mouse before eating it. What was even worse, their teacher supervising the class just watched as it all happened, clutching his pencil and staring hard at the monitors.
Around the girl, her classmates began to murmur their disagreements with the scene. "These are not the actions of a hero." a boy with a bird head said.
From beside her, Kaminari scratched his head and nervously looked at the screen, "I thought Midoriya was pretty amazing too. But, in terms of combat power, Bakugou is definitely a ball of natural instinct."
Vanya disagreed, her nails cutting into her palms at how hard she was clenching them in her anger. It wasn't instinct that drove him to act like this, it was cruelty. He clearly enjoyed it. This scenario was too familiar to her, a student being pushed past their limits while an adult watched on, doing nothing. Anger made her blood hot but the unfairness of the situation made the skin on the back of her neck icy. UA was exactly like the Academy, she realized bitterly.
Vanya shook off Sero's hand from where it had rested on her shoulder and stormed up to All Might, who was trembling. She could hear it.
"Aren't you going to do anything?" she asked, not nicely. "He's getting hurt out there!"
The pro looked at her in surprise but also with guilt, "I... He..." he said, at a loss for words.
Though she could not see it, the class blanched at the way Vanya spoke to the teacher. Sero and Kirishima both violently recoiled at the sheer second-hand embarrassment they felt watching Vanya's lack of fear and audacity to speak to someone older, not to mention famous, like that. The boys pressed their hands to their faces, watching through their fingers with their mouths agape. Kaminari, on the other hand, was watching with his jaw dropped that slowly morphed into a disbelieving smile, choking down soft laughs of disbelief.
All Might and Vanya broke their intense eye contact when Bakugou and Midoriya began harsh words and ran at each other on the screens. Both loaded up their cocked-back fists with their own power and lunged at the other, harsh glints from their need to win in their eyes.
"This looks bad, Sensei!" Kirishima yelled.
Vanya whirled back to the pro, "Stop this!" she hissed.
"The two of you, cease immediately-!" All Might finally yelled but was cut off by the sound of Midoriya's shout from the speakers.
"Now, Uraraka!"
"Got it!" the girl on the screen yelled back.
In an impressive moment of good planning, foresight, and sheer luck, Midoriya swung his fist so that the power that lit up his veins like Christmas lights flew toward the ceiling and kept going, breaking windows as it shot up and up the building until it burst through the roof and then kept going.
Uraraka used Zero-Gravity on a pillar and swung hard, knocking a wall of debris in Iida's direction. The tall boy covered his face with his arms to protect himself but by the time he looked up, the brown-haired girl had already launched herself at the bomb and bear-hugged it, yelling "I got it! I got it!" excitedly as did.
