We were waiting in line to get breakfast and the boys were quite excited. I was in the front of the line behind me was Winston,Frypan,Newt,Minho and Thomas. We didn't know where Teresa was, and honestly I was quite worried about her. I saw some fruit so I went over to get that, when I came back the boys were sitting across from some other boys that I didn't know. Minho wawed me over so I sat down in between Minho and Newt.

"So how long have you guys been here?"Thomas asked , he was sitting next to Newt.

"Not long , maybe a day or two." the boy sitting across from me said. "This guy there his name is Aris , he's been here the longest."

"And who's Aris?" Minho asked. The boy glanced his head at the kid that I was honestly a little curious about , he seemed alone and I kinda wanted to sit with him ,be friends maybe? And i wasn't gonna lie I thought he was quite attractive.

"How long has he been here?" I asked the boys who were sitting in front of us. I was curious about the boy and for some reason I felt like I had known him my entire life , he brought a sense of familiarityin me. It was like anytime I looked at him I wanted to run up to him and hug him.

"A week." The boy said, bringing me out of my trance.

"Why is he all alone , where are the people from his maze?"Newt asked. And just as the boy was about to answer , Janson came in to the lunch area with two guards behind him and a clipboard in his hand. "Okay. The following names are to line up behind me and soon you will be escorted to your new lives." He said smiling creepily. The whole cafetaria cheered.

"What's this about?" Minho asked.

"They take a bunch of kids every morming to take them to the safe heaven."

"Lucky bastards."The other boy said.

Honestly, that sounded like complete shit to me. I looked over at "Aris " to see him already looking at me , I smiled at him. He seemed a little shocked about my actions and smiled back. I felt a weird warm feeling in my cheeks but just ignored it. I turned around when Janson smacked his clipboard in between his hands."Alright that is our list for today!" Everyone frowned in disappointment. "Now now don't get upset. Your turn is tommorow , I promise." I personally did not want to go. I looked back at Aris to see him now standing up and leaving his food tray in where ever you are supposed to. I ate my fruit as I thought about the boy. I had to talk to him.

  When we got off the cafeteria some doctors took us to a room to get some test. It was just 2 hours of tests and I was really bored. When the tests were finally over, we went into the cafeteria again for lunch. When we sat down at the same place we sat in the morning I saw Aris in his exact same place again. He had his hood up on his head and was staring at his cornbread, it was a bit concerning how focused he was on the cornbread.I looked over at Thomas who was now standing up for some reason. "Teresa?" he yelled and when I looked at where he was looking at, I saw Teresa in between some doctors going somewhere. Thomas tried to get through the door but the guard in the green shirt stopped him. The boys, my boys only , got up to stop anything bad from happening. I mean I wouldn't be surprised, It's Thomas. Part of me wanted to go over to Thomas as well , sort it out with my friends . But the other part really wanted to know why the klunk this boy was making me feel this way. It was 50 to 51 percent so I took this as an opportunity to finally go and talk to Aris. I stood up and made my way over to his table.

No one else was sitting on his table so I just sat down across from him. He smiled at my actions "Hello." he said smiling.

"Hi Aris, I'm Maria nice to meet you." He seemed surprised, probably because I knew his name before he even told me.

"How do you know my name?" Aris asked me with furrowed eyebrows.

"Well you're quite popular around here." I said smiling and chuckling. He smiled and put his hand out for me to shake, "Pleasure is all mine miss" he said as he shook my hand.

"Do you want to come over and sit with us? I mean you looked a little , um-

"Lonely?" Aris said smiling a little. "Well I wouldn't put it that way" Aris chuckled. And that's when I realized that I forgot to let go of his hand, so right now it was like we were holding hands . I let go quickly but I tried to be "casual " doing so. But I think Aris noticed because he chuckled to himself. "Stupid! Why the shuck would you do that!" I tought.

"Anyways I should get going."I said when I saw my boys getting up staring at me like they were questioning every move i made. "Why?" Aris asked me sounding almost sad , and I don't know why but that made me happy. I waved my head in the direction of the boys and smiled. " Oh I see." Aris said.

"Goodbye Aris , see you at dinner?"

"Goodbye Maria." Aris said. I smiled and turned around to go do some more tests with the boys. As I picked up my tray Newt elbowed me softly, "What was that about?"

"He's nice , I like him." I replied.

"If you say so." Newt said before us leaving the cafeteria. I was happy. Concerningly happy if you ask me. But I didn't care. I did it , I finally talked to Aris. We were friends now, or so I hoped. I was now excited for dinner, to see him, my friend.
