"- we need to move before the fighters spot us. Wait here until we plan a route ahead"

Optimus beckoned his team of Autobots to follow "let's roll" walking away in great strides, accompanied by his kin. Sideswipe calling for Ratchet to cover, gathering in their own little groups.

The human soldiers started grouping up, preparing for a final fight. You helped by freeing guns from their protective crates handing them to those currently unarmed.

Eddie had removed a Rocket Launcher from its hard case, in time for Sam to bring attention to it "Hey, reckon one of those rockets could take out a pillar?" Sam questioned Epps, who had been examining a map.

The man looked up, pointing to a location on the folded piece of paper "its eight blocks away, we got to get closer for a proper shot"

"No closer, higher!" a soldier (Hooch) stated, pointing towards one of the taller buildings that had yet to receive any long term damage from the Decepticon rampage "we need a clear line of sight!"

You stood up, shading your eyes as you gazed across to the structure; "and it's across a river. I'm going to have a hell of a time trying to sneak up!"

Another raised a singular missile, drawing in Epps attention "and we only got one shot" he added. You examined it, facing your cybernetic limb, rotating it in an experimental fashion which prompted an idea.

"one shot is all we need- "

"-- if the worst happens, I'll try shooting it" you cut Sam off, giving a nonchalant shrug. The suggestion sounded reasonable, but could go horribly wrong as you've never actually hit such a faraway object before.

Epps fixed you with a doubting look. You pointedly ignored it.

Soldiers were soon climbing into the alt modes of the Autobots once they reappeared having located a suitable route. Sam and Carly occupying Bumblebee, you and two others got into the cabby of Ratchet. Simply not having time to weasel through into the back seats, in addition to still feeling rather petty.

Besides, Ratchet offered.

The entourage of Autobots, helmed by Leadfoot, made short work of getting the handful of military personnel toward the edge of the Chicago River. Everything was going smoothly until a Decepticon ambush too everybody by surprise, striking Optimus Prime's trailer and knocking it away.

Witnessing this all via Ratchet's wing mirror, feeling a growing dread by the size of that thing and having some unwanted flashbacks to Devastator.

Detouring into a building with a large enough hole for nine sports cars (plus an ambulance and Semi) to pass through, last one to leap out of the Ambulance that transformed only seconds after.

"That is one scary ass Decepticon!" announced Epps, running inside after having exited to take a look at the situation. His idea, you imagined, a smart one at that as a human was harder to spot than a large robot.

Optimus was preparing his weapon, as others around him transformed once relieved of their human cargo "they've got my trailer. I need that flight tech" the great leader spoke, sounding deeply frustrated.

Pumping his gun, stepping up toward the pale brick wall and peering outside to spy on the current menace "Shockwave can't hunt all of us at once. Wreckers, we need a diversion!"

"let's get sum'!" Roadbuster called, enthusiastic over the prospect of creating chaos. Lead foot trailed behind his companion, uttering a threatening "you got that right" as Topspin tailed behind them.
