~ CARPE DIEM ~

ENZO'S POV

"Maybe we should've written a list."

"No need," I told Amberle as we fought over pushing the shopping cart through the supermarket. "I've got it all memorised right here." I tapped my head for emphasis.

She said nothing, allowing me to lead us down the desired aisle. "Ah," I grinned as we stopped in front of the exact thing that I'd been searching for. "Item number one."

Picking up a box of English breakfast teabags, I dropped them into a cart with a relieved sigh.

"There we are," I said. "All done. Let's go."

As I made a move to turn the cart around, Amber immediately reached out to stop me. "Hey! I need real food to survive, remember?" she grumbled, her eyebrows pulling together into a frown. "I'm human - or did you forget that in the ten minutes you haven't teased me about it?"

"I didn't forget," I assured her, but continued on our path forwards. "I just don't care."

From beside me, Amber nudged my body with her own. I returned the favour with a smirk.

As we passed a certain aisle, Amber appeared to spot something that had caught her eye and gasped. "I'll be right back!"

And with that, she hurried away.

"Where are you going?" I called after her.

She merely dismissed me with a flick of her wrist and continued on her journey. "I'll meet you at the fresh produce section," was all she said before disappearing out of sight.

Shaking my head in disbelief, I heaved a sigh and strolled up and down the aisles, occasionally throwing in some items that we'd need. Trying my hardest not to forget that Amberle was a vegetarian, I avoided as many meat products as possible, only grabbing the occasional packet of chicken breasts or minced beef.

Finally arriving at the fresh produce section, I picked up some more mushrooms and peppers, followed by onions and celery. Only a few moments later, a bubbly blonde turned the corner to meet me with a contented smile on her face.

In her arms, she carried two bottles of Cherry Coke and multiple bags of chocolate, plus a packet of marshmallows that she held between her teeth. Noticing me staring, she froze on the spot in front of the cart, holding my gaze as we looked at each other.
