"i can't stand you!" she exclaimed, throwing her hands up.
"oh, really?" i asked, scrolling through instagram. i had gotten used to her random yelling fits, everything i did seemed to set her off and to be quite honest, i didn't really care if she was mad at me or not.
"can you pay attention for once in your life, michael?! just once."
i rolled my eyes, locking my phone, "what?"
"have you listened to anything i just said?"
"nope," i replied.
"god, do you always have to be such an asshole?!" she exclaimed, throwing her hands up in frustration.
"sorry, babe," i smirked, "it's kind of my thing."
"that's the problem with you, michael. you never take anything serious," she yelled.
"okay," i replied, getting up and walking towards the door.
"if you walk out that door, this relationship is over!"
"damn, it was good while it lasted," i said, walking out of the door and closing it behind me.
was i an asshole?
yes.
was she right about me never taking anything seriously?
yes.
but did i care?
no.
i chuckled to myself as i quickly put in my passcode and called my best friend, calum.
he picked up on the fourth ring.
"hello," he answered.
"hey, i'm on my way over," i said.
"okay," he replied, and with that i hung up.
just as soon as i locked my phone again, i was getting a call from katie. i don't know why i was annoyed. it was just her typical thing, throw a fit about god knows what, get mad when i left her house, and then call me back a few minutes later apologizing.
i rolled my eyes, answering, "hello?"
"hey, i'm really sorry about earlier..." she trailed off.
"okay?" i said, because i just didn't care. she seemed to care more about this "relationship" than i did.
"come over later around 6? my parents will be out for the night. i don't want us to end like this and i hope you-"
"like i said," cutting her off, "it was good while it lasted."
and with that, i ended the call.
