A Welcome

you can think of this collection as a curation of poems that i've written over the years. i'd started writing prose in 2018 and poetry in 2020 after meeting a close friend online. she'd ignited the love of poetry in me and i wrote whatever came to mind, not really caring if it was bad —not caring if it was superficial.

then i wrote about the stuff that mattered. stuff that actually reflected what i was feeling at the moment. i have always lacked the courage to share my work and i know it's not perfect. it might not even be good but i feel like everyone has a right to share their story.

this collection is about what i've felt as a woman growing up in a patriarchal society and how i had a skewed perception of the world.

welcome. and thank you so much for choosing to read this book.
